McNeills Shell Service

I’ve been taking my Silverado to this shop for Krown undercoating for 4 years thinking I was getting fair service and good quality work.nnDefinitely not the case.nnToday, when I removed the 2 front plastic underbody panels 6 quick bolts - 30nseconds with an impact tool extending from the front bumper to just ahead of the transmission, I discovered that they did not apply any undercoating to the 2 frame cross members nor were the main frame rails in that area ever sprayed. See pictures. However there was lots of undercoating applied to the exterior of the rear PLASTIC wheel wells.nI called to express my disappointment with the quality of work. The response that I received was “that’s not good” and a chuckle when I mentioned the plastic rear wheel wells. I was asked if I wanted to bring to bring it back in and I told him that I had already applied a can and a half of Rust Check spray to the area today while I was doing an oil change. When I emphasized how disappointed I was and that I would no longer be bringing my vehicles for service - I simply got an “okay”. I paused hoping to hear some good customer service - but I got nothing. When I said, it sounds like you don’t care about retaining a long standing customer and the response was “We hope to have an opportunity regain your business.”. That was it.nI’m done.

I was driving from Amherst to Halifax by myself. My car started making a banging sound. I’m on the highway… if I drive over 70k the banging sounds gets louder. Now very loud. I take the exit at the Big Stop and google service stations and choose McNeills. I’m not feeling hopeful that they will be able to service my car without an appointment. To my surprise they were very sympathetic to my situation and fit me in. I believe the technician was just coming back from his lunch break and they were very busy. Took it for a drive , put it on the hoist and fixed the problem. Amazing!!!! Great service with a smile.

Appreciate that they had an apt available quickly and that they did the job in less than quoted.nHowever they had told me 2 hrs, but on the bill it's put as 2.5. And it took them 1.5 but still charge the 2.5.nSo if i'm not in a rush i'll pick somewhere different and ask more questions in regards to accurate quoting and final price. Note taken.

First visit for mechanical work. Two 2014 cars for overall inspection and winter tire application. Good communication, price very reasonable. No complex work was required so cannot comment on that type experience. Given 4/5 simply because visit was for a simple reason. Will certainly go back and reassess for a possible 5/5.

I was in my way to Halifax and noticed a tear in the sidewall of my tire. Three businesses wouldn’t fit me in but McNeills told me to come right in and called another business for me as well to find the tire I needed. Excellent service! Thanks again!
