This place is awesome! Great friendly staff who are attentive and polite. Went for a bike ride here today with my fiancé and ended up grabbing a few drinks and some light food. Please see the pictures and make sure to hit this joint up your next time out. The chicken vegetable soup was so delicious! The potato leek soup was smooth and velvety.
Overpriced. Waitstaff kept forgetting stuff..We ordered dessert and instead she put it in To go boxes and she knew one of us were celebrating a birthday . We spent over $200 for 4 people and she acted like we were annoying her. We didn’t overstay either. We ate each course as it came and then she asked us about dessert. Most of the food was good tasting ..good fries, fish, burgers, sauces, drinks…the only thing is the steak was very very chewy. They should just take that off the menu. And the waitress didn’t take our card, instead she stood there with a portable card machine and asked us which tip we wanted to give. The food was overshadowed by the horrible wait staff experience. This is the second time I was there and both times the wait staff was horrible. I feel like that’s why it wasn’t busy on a Saturday night..because it’s not the food.
4.5 Stars! We haven't been here in a few years and stopped for lunch. Busy but not too busy. Got greeted right away and were told to sit anywhere we wanted. We both ordered off the special lunch menu, pick 2 for $12. WOW well worth it and generous portions. I ordered the 1/2 fish sandwich with the wedge salad. Husband ordered same sandwich with potato leek soup. Delicious and a good value. Since inflation is rampant, it's been hard not to feel things are too expensive. Not here! Delicious food and good value. We left with full bellies! Service was fine and attentive. We also ordered beer and a glass. Opted not to use the glass because it needs to be frosty! Highly recommend this pub restaurant with a casual and comfy atmosphere. We will be back soon
Nice atmosphere very pretty inside, great server, very attentive. Ruben sandwich was too much bread and not enough corned beef, or saurkraut. Corn beef dinner tasty but lots of fat on the meat. Vegetable soup too spicy/hot! Chili was good.Food: 3/5
Man this place could be really good, but my family's experience was NOT. Upon arriving we were greated by a very friend server. That was the end of the pleasantries. My wife asked about a draft cider. The server told her about everything but what she asked about. She had to ask the same question several times to get the server to understand she was inquiring about a cider and not all of the other beers. When the server finally returned with the one drink that was ordered, we placed an order for the poutine as an app. Terrible mistake. It had tomatoes which were not disclosed on the menu. We had to chase the server down to address the issue. He asked us to just "pick around them" that's not how it works with an allergy and if we are going to spend $15+ on an app I would expect it to be prepared as the menu describes or if it isn't, replaced as requested. We knew it was going to be an even worse experience if we decided to order entrees there. We had spent an unacceptable amount of time waiting on one drink and an unacceptable app. So we requested to pay and leave. The best part about the visit was that upon leaving we tried a pizza place just down the street close to the river that was GREAT! We found a new spot to enjoys again and our night was salvaged!
The new menu is here as of today! Great menu and bangers and mash are back! Great food, atmosphere, staff and a great please to go for a perfect pint of the good ole ruby red stuff. Thanks for a great experience every time we come.
Went there for lunch The food was very good I had the fish and chips and my wife had the The Shepherd's pie. Just to warn you Cokes are are $3 each I spent $9 just for sodas for me. Our server didn't seem very happy from when we sat down and she did not seem happy to any of the tables that I observed,I thought it was just us. Probably would not go back again just because of the server.I still left her a good cash tip anyway. Maybe she had a bad day!
The place has it all! The pub has character from the architecture to the atmosphere it creates. However, the real reason I frequent the place is a pint of Guinness poured from the tap for it is the best around! That tap is the hub of the City of St. Charles!!Food: 5/5
Friendly service. Wide selection. One of the very few places that have Harp beer on tap! Definitely a "Must go to" place when in the area. You will not be disappointed!Food: 5/5
Gave it 4 stars because the atmosphere is fun and the service was good. But the Shepard's pie I ordered was just so-so. My fiancee ordered the fish and chips which he liked.Food: 3/5
