Beautiful golf course!! Well kept and perfect level of challenge for the seasoned to novice golfer.
Came here for a family luncheon we lost that window but unfortunately did not call ahead. We had a relatively large group and they still accommodated us with no issues. Food was good, staff was friendly and service was great.
Mayville golf course is the best kept secret in Wisconsin. Fast, true, small to average size greens, with lots of undulation. Generous fairways and 4 different tee boxes to make it fair for every type of player. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and play this hidden gem.
Fun course. Challenging but not overly difficult. The greens can be a little tough based on pin placement but the greens are average speed enough to still have a chance. Enjoy the wildlife while you're out there.
Went there for the food and was not disappointed. I was lucky that they had beef brisket plate for a special for $14. I got so much meat I couldn't finish it all. Nice place with beautiful views and a vary friendly wait staff. We ate at 3:30, but the regular waitresses don't start until 4. We will return.
The Meating Place food and service were great. One of the best fish fries around the area.
We ate at "The Meating Place" and while the food was superb, the Hostess was not so much. Said Hostess told us it would be a 20-25 minute wait for a table. My group of three was fine with that. We waited for some seating to open up around the bar, ordered a drink and waited. And waited and waited some more. After 35 minutes we politely inquired where we were on the list and she told us we would be seated right after she seated a group of four. We saw her seat a group of four, another group of four and then inquired again. We could see on her sheet that she actually had seated at least 2 more groups AFTER we were listed we waited almost an hour. No apology, just some stuttering as she knew we caught her. We believe she was seating people she knew prior to our group we don't live in Mayville. And then complained to the next people about us. We were there for fish. It was fantastic. Sweet potato fries were some of the best I have ever had. We will return and hopefully the Hostess won't be the same...
One of the nicest courses I've played. Fairways were well mowed, greens were great and it's challenging with lots of rolling hills and trees. Signage and tee box markers were clear and bright. Be sure to have a bite to eat and a beverage after. Great food! I will look forward to golfing here again the next time I visit.
Course was in very good shape. It was fun golfing it. There were obvious upgrades that new owners have made. Nice senior discounted rates. Went to the bar after golf. Good service all the way around and food was excellent. Definitely looking forward to another round of golf & lunch!
This was my first time ever at Mayville. I thought the course was great. Greens were in great shape too. I could tell, even with never being there before, that you are doing some great things there. Even small things like logo tee blocks, logo flags on the course and putting green, and structures to cover/store on course garbage cans are the small things that really stand out to me. Beer selection was excellent. As a craft drinker it's always great to see beers I haven't tried before. First and last impressions were great. Starting with really cool views over looking the course to a ending with a clean updated clubhouse and bar. Well done. I hope you guys have a great season. Cheers!
