Prices are good, usually well stocked and I’ve never had to line up as I cash out at self serve.
It has its ups and downs. Stock is an issue. They always have way too much of things that sit around forever and not enough of things that sell very well. For example, Como frozen pizzas come in 4 types and the same kind I'd always sold out, All Dressed, week after week after week, but you know what there's a lot of that I never see being sold? Cheese, Margherita and Sweet & Spicy.. dozens of them week after week, and very rarely are there ever any All Dressed pizzas. If I am understanding correctly, the ordering of stock is done in tandem/by a system A.I in recent years instead of having actual people ordering what is needed, so I can only assume that's what causes issues here.nnStock issues aside, the store itself is clean, the employees that have come and gone over my 25 years shopping here have for the most part, all been very kind, attentive and competent at their jobs. The store also has the best prices in town so that's a plus.nnOne minor annoyance is how they stop selling/verifying Lotto tickets at 9PM almost every single night of the week when they are obligated to keep selling them until 10:30PM or closing time, whichever comes first in this case their closing time is 10PM and they don't do that. I worked in retail for 10+ years and we were obligated by Loto-Quebec to sell until 10:30PM and it is clearly explained in the Terms of Service from mandatory training that every employee is required to complete. If you want to buy/scan tickets prior to 9PM, you'll be fine, but after that, they stop selling/scanning tickets even on jackpot draw nights.
The older cashier is terrible. Fake blond wavy hair québécoise. Her name is Annie and looks between 40-50 yrs old. I get the impression she just works for the pay check only. Always giving dirty looks and hates her job. She should not be in customer service for real. It’s not a pleasant experience giving bad vibes to customers.nnThe younger cashiers are amazing though! Happy, smiling and motivated!
Was at Maxi Chambly June 29th, yesterday.nWas returning cans and plastic bottles before doing groceries. An employee came running in my direction, warning me that the floor was extremely slippery. As he did that he fell flat on his back, poor guy. He attempted to mop it and to wipe it but to no avail, and he fell two more times. We should have worn ice skates. I went to the Customer service counter to advise the young lady there of the situation. She said there was nothing she could do. I asked if there were carpets that they could install before someone got hurt and she said no. I asked to speak to a person in charge and she just shrugged.nThe young man went back and sprayed degreaser on the floor, got down on his hands and knees and wiped everything down. It was better. He told me he had been advised to not use the product. I was glad he did. I hope he can walk this morning. While I was there he fell a few times. It was ridiculous. Bravo to him for not giving up. Thumbs down to management for not looking out for these situations. I was in running shoes and had no trouble in the rest of the store so my shoes were not the issue. If anyone got hurt yesterday I hope you reach management. It was a farce
Customer service is terriblenI understand that beer bottles should be clean when returned however there is a limitnMaxi desk makes you wait as they inspect every bottle individually and then if there is literally 3 drops of liquid left in the bottle even if it is water after cleaning they will not accept itnWhere is the management in this facility!!!nWho sets up the process here, certainly not aimed at customer satisfactionnOne can go to any other maxi establishment and not go through the ridiculous screening as the maxi on Chambly
