On June 21, 2017 I received and confirmed a quote from a State Farm agent, in which we agreed on $304.56 condo owner insurance ($25.38/month). After having received my void cheque, the agent sent me an email with the attached policy #FA673821. In this email, the agent wrote to me that I will be paying $26.19 a month. Later, I received the pre-authorized payment agreement from State Farm in which the policy price before tax is $291 that is $9 higher than the original quote. I contacted the agent informing of their mistake. However, the agent wrote back to me that they “just talked to another underwriter who explained to me that the online quote was only a “quick” and “preliminary” quote. When an agent office finalizes it and binds the application, the premium is then “final”.” It is written in the quote that the premium is guaranteed for 55 days. Furthermore, I did not agree to a higher than the quoted price. You can see now how State Farm does business.
