We have been coming to Mary Bridge for years and I have always been beyond satisfied with the loving and nurturing care they provide to my children. This is a community full of amazing doctors, nurses, and staff. Over the years the energy has never changed. We are always met with understanding, and intentional efforts to find a solution. Times have changed and our health system as a whole is completely overwhelmed. Tonight, I walked into the ER to be greeted by Kristen RN who truly cared about what my son was going through from the beginning! She was able to recall him from a previous visit back in April which was amazing to me. There were many people in the waiting room already so I was able to see what was going on while we waited and there was consistency in the rhythm of INTENTIONAL CARE, even out there. She juggled medications, vital rechecks, parent concerns, all while being understanding of emotions! Anything I or another parent needed, she was there. While waiting, a RN by the name of Bernand that had treated my daughter days before had walked into the waiting room and literally remembered my daughter by her first name. This is something I’ll never forget and perfect examples of the continuous and meaningful care they provide to our kiddos. As a parent, it’s a scary thing to have a child that is in pain or feeling sick. Waits can be hours but rest assured this team will provide the care necessary to get your kiddo back to health and support you every step of the way.
“Child life specialists” that play with and “comfort” your child? Seriously?! That’s a parent’s job. What makes some stranger more qualified to provide emotional support to a sick child than the child’s parents, who actually know and love the child? What if the family just wants to be left alone together? A degree in child psychology if they have even that doesn’t replace a parent’s love. Parents know what is best for their kids. Not to mention they’re also hired to dumb down whatever your doctor says into baby talk for the parents…pretty sure most parents are not as uneducated and illiterate as you consider them to be. Sick and tired of having to defend my family from these intrusions!
Went to the emergency room, it was full, had to wait a while, but the staff was phenomenal. They were absolutely amazing, knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and capable. It was hard being in there with all the suffering children, couldn't imagine doing it every day. My sincere thanks to everyone there.
All the staff were very kind and professional. We were consistently made to feel like my son's care and comfort was a priority. I am appreciative of all the staff, I can't imagine taking care of peoples' babies especially if the parents are anxious is an easy job and they do it really well!
Called because I had a question about my daughter who sees a doctor through their network and their office was closed today. Whoever answered the phone was so rude and refused to put me through to speak to a nurse. Told me I would have better luck calling a pharmacy because they didn't have anyone who could answer my question. Nurses cant answer my question about a potential interaction between tylenol and her prescribed allergy medicine? She wouldn't even let me talk. Kept speaking over me and talking down to me. Unprofessional. Should find another field to work in.
Waited in the ER for 6 1/2 HRS with My Medically complex Child who was in pain, no imaging was ordered I had to fight to get an xray done, while they were worried about bringing all the other Kids who didn't act very sick medicine while My Child got absolutely nothing. She is having severe tummy pain and has a history of a blockage I'm sure that's what is going in, they just kept saying more and more People were in front of us, literally how? At 2 AM I called it and We left My Daughter got no help that She needs and deserves and is still in pain, I came Home gave Her Tylenol and will figure out where to go from here without Mary Bridge in the picture. DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE, THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, THEY ARE RUDE AND TAKE KIDS BACK BEFORE YOURS WHEN YOUR KID ABSOLUTELY SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED BACK FIRST. SMH. 0 STARS DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER IN MY LIFETIME.
Mary Bridge Children's Hospital is a joke. Went to the ER because my 3 day old daughter had vomited three times within the day and she was non stop screaming for 2 hours straight. We got checked in and they made us wait 3 hours only for us to end up leaving because they said they had no idea when we could be seen even though there were maybe 5 people in the waiting room and employees were just chilling on their phones in the back. Saw a child having an asthma attack at the counter and their first response was to check his weight . Never. Again.
First time at Mary Bridge Emergency and hopefully the last time. We were sent here by my son's primary care doctor. They do not see patients based on arrival. It's based on "severity". So we were pushed back further and further because my son is a teen and his nausea, vomiting, and gastrointestinal issues were not more severe than kids with colds. Not a good way to see pediatric patients.****my review has nothing to do with the staff, everyone who saw us was friendly and caring****
Waiting time is extremely long. Stop counting time after 3hrs +. Waited in line for Starbucks like everyone. Made me wait for a plain bagel w/cream cheese until they took care of all the medical staff 8+that had placed their orders after me. When I asked about my bagel the lady gave me attitude and said your up next and proceeded to take care of everyone else.
Was at this hospital last night until 3am with my child, we ended up leaving because there was at least 60 kids ahead of us. Returned to this very same hospital MBCH and the lobby is very unsanitary. Items left on tables hair on chairs clearly no one cleaned in between shifts. Luckily when we returned there wasn’t anyone in the dirty lobby. We are still waiting to get a room.
