I was very apprehensive, emotional and needed a lot of encouragement in selling my home of 46 years. Martin did a fabulous job in keeping me informed, grounded and guiding me in the selling procedures, as it was my first time selling. OUR HOUSE IS SOLD!!! Thank you to Martin Landry at Remax for selling our home in just over two weeks! If it weren’t for his drive, enthusiasm and knowledge of the market, this process would not have been as much fun and our home may not have sold as quickly. We cannot say enough about this wonderful Gatineau realtor who is an even better human being! Martin came into our lives in the unhappiest of ways in February 2017. Our younger brother passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. We were devastated. My co-executor and I live respectfully in Alberta and Vancouver Island. We had to swing into action to deal with two real estate properties that we knew very little about. They were rentals at the time and, as anyone who has lived in Quebec can attest to, the landlord/tenant complexities can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Long story short, with Martin's objective and informed guidance we were able to assess the pros and cons of continuing to rent versus selling. In the fog of our grief, Martin helped us define the priorities in a timely way so we could get things in process quickly. We put the two properties on the market at prices that were well supported by Martin's comprehensive research. As he showed the properties to prospective buyers, he provided us with timely feedback to lead us to more informed decisions. Dealing with the tenants was problematic but Martin took that challenge on personally with his charm and the acute awareness that from afar, there was no way we could help. In this regard he went above and beyond and the result was that the tenants opted to renegotiate their leases such that the properties would be free of tenants at the time of sale - the best case scenario for us! Within six months we had both properties sold at prices that were in line with market and we were able to pay off the inherent debts quickly. Martin even saw to arranging cleaning of the properties and the removal of items not part of the sales. Amazing! Martin treated us like heart-broken family members and could not do enough to take care of us. We are eternally grateful and will always remember him for his immense skill set and especially his humanity in walking this journey with us. Michelle & Marc L. January 2018
