This station is much more than the station whose last half of the train's doors won't open because the platform is tiny! Markham GO Station is infinitely superior than the other Stouffville line stations. With its little train station building that also doubles as a small event venue and karate class classroom, you get to relax with a bit of old world charm before funnelling off to work in the concrete jungle downtown. Enjoy the seat you'll get on the train because you had to board SO early...on the 8am you might find the spots already filled up on the last two trains, because those exits give you a quick way out at Union. But just walk through the train and you'll find your seat! The BEST part is the double platforms are literally ten seconds away from the Main & Ramona intersection, meaning you're not walking another 100 meters to get to your train. Yes that means you, Unionville. As a person who walks to the train station sometimes, this is AMAZING. As a person who is also late sometimes, this is also amazing. If you're getting dropped off, it's a quick in-and-out for the person chauffeuring you. No mile long lines and multiple lights to wait at. When the train comes, the light going into the station is always green, making it super easy to leave. Driving? There's a small reserved lot, and two bigger lots to park in, in which you will find a parking spot if you take the 7:03 am train, guaranteed. The 7:35.... You may have to get here a bit early to guarantee your spot. Luckily the parking lots all surround the train so no matter where you park the walk isn't bad. There's a handful of car pool spots which no one uses... Now, back to the facilities: there is a nice waiting area indoors with tons of room on those cold winter days. And two single washrooms, which are typically unoccupied. Plus there are two GO attendants to sell you Prestos or load up your card... But why would you when there's auto load? Enjoy this little gem of Markham, and our awesome connection to downtown! (Those fare hikes though. *sigh*)
