This was honestly the best place for Mexican food I have ever been to; let alone in the city of Hamilton. People rant and rave about their competitors around the city and all I’ve experienced is cold food and horrible quality. My friend and I visited Maria’s for the first time today and I can truly say I’ve been blown away. Everything is delicious, simple but also packed full of flavour, textures and all over a fantastic experience. I would 100/10 recommend this place to anyone who likes REAL food. They make everything from scratch from the salsa to the SOUR CREAM. It was so lovely! I will be coming back and bringing a few more friends! Thank you so much for such lovely food! Your staff were incredibly polite and hard working. We felt welcome from the moment we stepped in! We loved the music and the atmosphere, we had a blast!
This cute little restaurant is the best spot for authentic Mexican cuisine! The food was unbelievably flavourful, fresh, and delicious! The birria is a must, as well as the cheesecake!! Staff were kind and helpful. The space is brightly decorated and made us feel like we were stepping into Mexico on a cold winter day. We will absolutely be back, and will recommend to friends!
10 out of 10 this place is fantastic! Only a few restaurants on here have received five star ratings from me, this place is highly recommended for all lovers of food. They easily accommodated my Vegan lifestyle and created an amazing burrito full of unique flavors I've never experienced before I had in a restaurant. I've had this place twice now and both times I've had to go in and tell them how good my burrito has been. Definitely a place to check out even if you're vegan they will accommodate and help you out ! Every time I'm here I'll come up and have my mouth watering food from Maria's and a beautiful view of the city! You got to eat here!
It's a nice place for some good Mexican food. The decor was nice and they had Mexican music playing on the TV the whole time. Although we went at a time between lunch and dinner when it was less crowded, by the time we left the place was almost full. We had to wait 15 minutes to order because one lady was placing an extremely long order. There were other people waiting to order and pick up their food as well. It would have helped if one person of the staff had looked at getting orders for the other customers instead of everyone being huddled around that one customer. Having said that, I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the place. One of the guys kept clearing dishes from the tables immediately. He was also serving food and I noticed that he changed his gloves every time so 10/10 for that. We ordered the tortilla soup which was watery and had tortilla chips missing from it. The esquites street corn were nice but a little salty. The chorizo torta that hubby got was just ok according to him. My veggie enchiladas were a good portion size and delicious. I got them with the mango habanero salsa and that was the best! The horchata was prepared at their drinks counter and brought out when we sat down to eat. I would definitely go again to try a few other dishes. Vegetarian options: They have a decent amount of vegetarian options on the menu. For vegans, customization may be possible. Parking: They have only a few spots in front of the restaurant. There's a note stuck on their door about additional parking available elsewhere.
Delicious! So glad we found this gem. Driving by, you'd barely notice it, but the quality of food, caliber of service and value for money are all top notch. We will definitely be back to try all the menu items!
We were having an anniversary party with about 50 people. We contacted Maria to cater our gathering and it was amazing! Everyone loved the food and went back for seconds and thirds! Mexican food made from scratch was so fresh and flavourful! Thanks again for making the day extra special for us
Great authentic Mexican restaurant in the Fruitland area! This place is easy to miss if you are driving on hwy 8 but you'd be glad if you tried it. Food is great and fresh tasting. Prices are decent are service was friendly and quick. We tried the recommended Birria and they were really tasty. We also got 3 other tacos to try- chorizo, barbacoa and carnitas. We got the recommended traditional toppings with salsa verde a mango habenero. The taste was really good. The parking lot is quite small and can be an issue during lunch hours on weekends. We will return.
After reading the reviews, we stopped by me and the miss, jnhave to say very delicious but also very expensive, lunch cost us $65.00. Wife Ordered the quesadia, she was still hungry so she ordered again and got the large chicken burrito, and myeslf i got the 3 corn tacos with beef and dipping sauce, like the wife i was still hungry after 3 tacos and ordered again, this time i got the asada steak burritto. burrito was my favorite as after done eating it it was hard to breathe lol.
Authentic Mexican takeout joint. We had their Traditional Sunday menu, which isn’t always available—so check out their Instagram for updates to see if they’re open for that Sunday. We tried the suadero and birria—the fillings were both juicy and flavourful. Will have to come back for their regular menu, but their special menu is also a nice treat since it’s different from the standard fare.
First time visit. Lots of options on the menu. Ordered tacos- steak and chorizo with side of salsa mango, Agua de horchata. Tacos were full of flavor and horchata was perfect beverage to complete the meal.Food: 5/5
