Dr. Marcu did a phenomenal job with my labrum repair in September 2022. It was a tricky diagnosis as my tear was behind my shoulder; it had completely incapacitated my right arm after 2 years of dealing with the injury. Thought it was perhaps a rotator because of the consistent deterioration after a traumatic event, and Dr. Marcu explained we wouldn't really know the full extent of the injury prior to the surgery. It turned out to be the labrum, but I also had floating cartilage that had ripped off the bone, causing some of the 9/10 pain I was experiencing at times. Dr. Marcu successfully removed the cartilage and performed microfracture surgery along with the labrum repair to help build new cartilage and put me in the best position for 100% recovery. It was simply a smashing success. Now 15 weeks after surgery, I have already gained 90% overall mobility and am 10x stronger than I was prior to surgery. I tried everything possible to avoid a shoulder replacement but when I was no longer able to do or enjoy doing too many things without pain, I contacted Dr Marcu. Having worked with him for many years with my shoulder issues and having always been given thoughtful and sound advice, I felt confident when he suggested it was an appropriate time to replace the shoulder. Although not looking forward to the recovery time, I agreed after the process and expectations were very clearly laid out for me by Dr Marcu. From start to finish everything was courteously and professionally handled by Dr. Marcu and the staff at Orthopedic Associates and Sauk Prairie Healthcare; they were all nothing short of amazing! The reverse shoulder replacement was successful with no complications and little pain post-op. As I continue to regain my range of motion and strength, I am now able to look forward to doing the things that were too painful before the surgery. Dr Marcu proved himself to be a highly skilled surgeon as well as someone very easy to work with and trust. I had a knee replacement in December of 2020. I was nervous however the results were "no more pain"! The staff, inpatient and outpatient were informative and caring. The physical therapy was actually something I looked forward too, during COVID it was great to focus on rehab. Dr. Marcu was honest and encouraging with the procedure and I was back in the water in 6 weeks and swimming at 9 weeks. My entire treatment plan was well thought out and I am scheduled for my second knee in November 2021.

Dr. Marcu provided exceptional care and experience for me. Being a health care provider myself, I was always impressed with his management and care of patients. His outcomes were excellent and the word from his patients was always positive about their experiences. I had a meniscus tear with a bucket-handle tear it was blocking my knee from bending and straightening fully. I became a patient of Dr. Marcu's and found exactly what I was hoping for. Dr. Marcu not only helped me in the short term, but was also looking out for my long-term outcome. Albeit it may have been easier to snip out the tear and clear the joint Dr. Marcu saved and repaired my meniscus. This will prolong the functionality of my knee for many more years to come. Dr. Marcu and his staff had excellent bedside manners and communication throughout. I felt part of the care plan for my knee Dr. Marcu and his staff knew what my hopes were and collectively everyone made the experience excellent. I would highly recommend Dr. Marcu. If I ever have the need for Orthopedic services again - I would see Dr. Marcu again without hesitation.

First, the Sauk Prairie hospital is an outstanding facility. The nurses, doctors, staff, and kitchen are all caring and wonderful people. Their professionalism in taking care of their patients are second to none. After hearing many wonderful things about Dr. Marcu, I contacted his office to inquire about having him take on my shoulder problem through VA community care due to all surgeries with the VA were cancelled due to COVID. They said they would and, a week later the VA had it set up with their office and 2 weeks later, I saw Dr. Marcu. The first visit we scheduled a tentative date approx a month later for the surgery and began all the pre-surgical stuff. The entire time Dr. Marcu and his office kept me up to date with the entire process and prepared me for the day of surgery. The surgery went great and with each follow up visit my shoulder was stronger and stronger. Now 6 months after the surgery, my shoulder feels better than it has in over 15 years. I could not thank Dr. Marcu, his staff, and the Sauk Prairie surgical staff and nurses enough for all the care they gave me. Their skills in what they do are amazing. If you are looking at having a shoulder replacement done, I highly recommend Dr. Marcu and the Sauk Prairie Hospital.

Dr. Marcu and his staff are very supportive and informative. I have had both right and left shoulders repaired by Dr. Marcu. Both had labrum tear and left had rotator cuff tear. I have recovered 100% from right and 80% at 6 weeks on left. Insurance first denied surgery, but Dr. Marcu understood how much pain I was in and went to bat for me to convince insurance company. Recent Hip Replacement done by Dr. Marcu and I couldn't be happier. Very professional and great bedside manner. Would highly recommend Dr. Marcu. From a previous replacement I was quite a bit shorter in one leg had to use inserts just to be level. I asked Dr. Marcu to please level me out and he did! No problems at all post surgery. Back to work and feeling Great!! Thank You Dr. Marcu and everyone at Sauk Prairie Healthcare great service from day I came in until I left.

I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about the treatment that I received not only from Dr. Marcu, but the entire staff of Sauk Prairie Hospital/Clinics. I was treated kindly and respectfully by everyone there. I highly recommend this clinic. My meniscus repair went smoothly, and I was walking around safely and comfortably by post-op day one. I couldn't be happier with the results of my recent total hip replacement. Dr. Marcu's thoughtful, insightful, and expert care has helped me get my quality of life back after two years of struggling with pain. As a younger candidate for the surgery 38 years old, I truly appreciated Dr. Marcu's progressive approach and willingness to treat the problem. The entire care team at Sauk Prairie is incredible. I felt prepared, motivated, and ready for surgery. I have been to several surgeons in attempt to get back to an active, pain-free lifestyle. I had my right hip replaced on Aug. 24,2021 with Dr David Marcu, and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH MY RESULTS. I waited to post this as I wanted to be 12 weeks out from my surgery. My results were exactly what I had hoped for and expected. I am pain free. I no longer have to sleep in my recliner at night. I am back in my bed! I can wear footwear other than the tennis shoes I have worn for the last 4 years, any kind of heel gave me increased hip pain. My limp is gone and I can ascend or descend a flight of stairs consecutively. I am walking for exercise again. I got my life back! I had my left hip replaced 18 yrs ago at Sauk and went back because of that previous positive experience. The new hospital and campus are beautiful and easier to navigate. The staff is excellent. Housekeepers, Food Service, PT, Nursing, Pre-op and Post Recovery, OR, and last but not least the Doctors. They listened. Together we developed my surgical and recovery plan. I did what they told me exercises pre and post surgery, just as they laid out. So Thank you Dr Marcu and staff and Sauk Prairie Healthcare.
