I’m a white dude that lives nearby. I randomly decided to volunteer. Everyone there made me feel so so soooo damn welcome. There were lil kids that would come up to talk to me, old ppl that wanted to talk… and a TON of ppl my age 23 that really wanted to connect with me. I felt so so damn cool. I never ever feel cool lolol If you want to just have a great time and meet a ton of awesome people, just ask to volunteer. Or go to a service. I live literally right beside the Mosque and I’m not religious at all. These are the sort of places that i am so proud to have within my community. It gave me such a mental boost and I really want to volunteer again asap. I’ve went to my friends’ synagogue, I’ve went to my moms church… all of these places are just able to show you the goodness of the human spirit. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone of any race and every religion. Just show some dang respect and life will be good and you’ll be brought to tears by the kindness I promise Shout out to the Muslims I’m soooo happy y’all came here. You guys are making Louis Riel proud
I'm a new convert to Islam. I find it very hard to get myself into the community because the environment at the most is very isolating. I don't know if its because I'm white but people never give me salam back, they give me dirty looks, it's not a place where a new convert can feel belonged. This is very bad as it will drive people away from islam like it's driving myself from it. Why should I go to a place of worship where I'm clearly not wanted?
Very organized, courteous and respectful. Lots of programs for youth, outreach work to help those in need regardless of faith, up to date with current issues faced by the community and programs to help relieve those challenges. They recognize and respectfully announce that we are on ancestral lands and on Treaty One Territory. They model the faith of peace. Peace and blessings to all.
Awesome and wonderful coordination at MIA. Jazakallahu khairan for making MIA central mosque is peaceful place to warship.
This Mosque is hands down the best in Winnipeg. I love this mosque I have prayed here many times.
I love how nice and welcoming this mosque, in addition to kids able to play sports there
Very clean and beautiful Masjid. A great place to go to for praying! They have a Prayer Room in St. Boniface Hospital, how amazing is that?! Please donate to them, they're doing incredible things! Much love
Clean place On time prayer services Amazing volunteers Plenty of parking Love going there
MIA is unreliable, they give your donations to people who do not deserve it; I know a guy personally who is healthy and works in a construction job for more than 43 hours/ week and get $17 / hour and renting 2 upscale condos in his back home to generate income, this guy is a heavey smoker 2 packs/day and always eat out at Red Lobster and still gets your donations. I called them many times to inform them and sent them emails, they never showed interst and never asked that guy to reimburse them that money; their mangement is broken. I suggest to find another organization to give them your money and to make sure that your money reaches to people who are indeed needy.
I admire the devotion to prayer life of Muslims. However, Muhammad started Islam long after Archangel Gabriel already gave Hail greeting to the Holy Mary, mother of Jesus. Muhammad also traveled to Jerusalem during his forming of Islam... fact. Jesus is the WAY, the Truth and the Life. God Bless.
