About

A locally-owned business ran by a grandmother and family. We serve authentic Salvadorean food.

Story

El Salvador is the smallest country in Central America. Let us introduce you to the tasty food of El Salvador via the authentic cooking of a grandmother and her family.

Our restaurant is named after our Beautiful mother/grandmother who we truly loved and had so much respect for. Her name was Maria Mercedes, whom we always called "Mama Menche."

We welcome you all to come and listen to a little bit of Latin music, while sitting back and enjoying our famous PUPUSAS (grilled tortillas stuffed with chicharron and cheese or for our vegetarian guests, try the cheese filled variety with or without beans). People also love our authentic tacos and our big famous Tilapia pan fried dish! Come and join us for a little Salvadorian flavour!

Very delicious and authentic. Loved the experience!
Authentic and delicious family cooking, passionate and dedicated owner, warm and welcoming place. I always visit when on Edmonton.
Great service delicious food!
It was good - family style vibes. It wasn't very busy when I went. Horchata wasn't great but the rest of the food was okay. My favourite was the papusa.
This is my go-to place for pupusas! Pork-stuffed corn pancakes for those of you who aren't familiar. The menu has much more traditional Salvadorian food and the staff are friendly. Definitely a great place to sit down for Sunday lunch.
Delicious, authentic El Salvadoran cuisine! Best papusas in town by far. I came here because my friends were highly recommending it, and can guarantee I will be back again. When I went, the chef took our order, she was very kind and the passion of her cooking and heritage shows through her food.
Great food, clearly very authentic. Very friendly staff, refreshingly high spirits despite how the circumstances have affected their business.
