Great atmosphere and friendly staff. But the sandwiches are average. And side of chips means a bag of Doritos or Lays which is fine but lacking for those looking for something more.
Very cute environment and tasty food! I wish that they had a half sandwich+soup special of some sort and that the tomato soup was gluten free, but I love this place as it currently is as well. I love coming here to read over some work and enjoy a great lunch.
I had a mexican chicken sandwich and cheddar & broccoli soup, they were both very tasty and the price was great
I haven't lived in Iowa City for some time, but I still regularly think of Mama's Deli's sandwiches. The BLT was always my go-to, but you can't really go wrong with any of them. In a city filled with sandwich shops, this is the one you should stick to.
Sandwiches are top notch! Homely feel inside as well.

The staff is very friendly and personable. They always bring you your food and smile. A clean environment. Home cooking at it's finest.
They have gluten free bread and you can get almost any sandwich gluten free! Most of their sides are gluten free, I go at least once a month
