TL;DR - Good for lunch. Dinner service leaves a lot emphasis on a lot to be desired. Read my dinner service rant below for details. *This blurb only applies for lunch service now The only AYCE sushi place in Stouffville. And y'know what? It's actually pretty good on par with my usual place. I went for weekend lunch. The sushi rice was fresh, fish was also fresh they passed my "snapper test" - the snapper tasted like snapper. The tempura was really good and they have fried milk. The wings are also surprisingly solid. Definitely recommended. * Update: Went for lunch again. Snapper still tastes like snapper. Lunch sill highly recommend. * Dinner update long rant: I showed up for dinner service, I've been to a lot of AYCE sushi places in York Region, and this is probably the first time I remember being cut *this* short on the first order. Items we ordered never showed up the beef and tuna takaki, the torched sushi, and the snapper sushi - every time I attempted to order it, it just never showed up, while other items such as my favorite fish snapper as well as octopus sushi were greatly cut down by as much as 80% ie I ordered 10 pieces of snapper sashimi on the first order, but only 2 fairly thin slices arrived, and more or less the same for the octopus sushi. Subsequent orders were exactly the same. If this was for orders 2 or 3 I would sort-of understand, but this was on the first order, which I feel is unacceptable. If this is a stock issue, I would've understood and not be this upset if we were told about this, or if the items were even marked as unavailable on the menu, which I know they can do since the ika sushi & sashimi were both marked as unavailable on the menu, but please don't get my hopes up when I order a plate of beef tataki and it just never shows up. On the bright side - service and serving speed were still on point and fast for the items that did show up, and whatever did show up was still pretty good, especially the coconut shrimp. Due to this rather upsetting dinner experience, I have removed 1 star from my rating. I will not return for dinner service again. Will still show up for lunch once every few months though, that's still good I hope, will update again next time I show up.
I was ordering takeout with my daughter after her TaeKwonDo class. I was ordering a 3 roll combo for my daughter and other items for my husband and I. Her order came with California, Tuna and Salmon rolls. I asked to switch out the Tuna and Salmon because my daughter isn't crazy about it. Much to my surprise, even though I was asking to remove the more expensive fish options, they told me they had to charge me an additional fee to remove the fish sushi rolls which costs more every day of the week. In the 10 years that I've lived in East Gwillimbury, never have I ever been charged to switch out one type of roll for another. After being rudely interrupted to wait to complete my order 3 times so the order taker could print bills for the servers to bring to the seated folks - ive worked in customer service for many years and i have learned that the customer always comes first I was finally able to complete the order and pay. A side note, she didn't even ask me to wait a moment and completely ignored me. I was still talking the entire time my head was down looking at the menu. Finally after a lengthy wait, we got our food. We got home and started eating our dinner. Good thing I didn't finish the meal because guess what I found in my rice?? A disgusting, nasty, HAIR. I've posted the photo for everyone to see. We frequent this establishment a few times a year and up until today, my daughter considered this place a treat! Needless to say, we are never going back - customer service is severely lacking and cleanliness seems to be an issue.
Very good BBQ eel lunch Bento. Big enough to be 2 meals. Good bang for your buck. Also tried the beef short ribs but they weren't too good
We came here on a Saturday night around 8:30pm for AYCE. Service was quick and food was on par with other AYCE places. Staff sometimes missed dishes or miscounted the number of pieces. But overall, it's a quiet spot and I would probably go again!Food: 4/5
Went after Stage3 was announced so we were able to dine in. We opted for ayce lunch and I can say that it was a very pleasant experience. People were very well spaced out in terms of seating, maintaining 6ft distancing with other groups. Zuki/Suki was our server and she is very professional, cheerful and made sure we have everything we need. She definitely gave us an exceptional service! I went with my sisters and until the ride home we can’t stop talking about the service we got from her. We loved the tempura, the enoki beef and the fried milk definitely deserves a special mention. The fried milk was creamy and not too sweet, it’s just perfect. The cheese dumplings are also good and with plenty of fillings. I can say that the price is very well worth it. It was our first time and we’ll be back for sure.
It's honestly amazing how much good sushi there is in Stouffville considering the sparse population and demographic. This restaurant consistently bangs out high quality food at a reasonable price. Their lunch AYCE menu has good selection, and the seating is fairly modest and comfortable.
Frankly speaking, the foods were not bad at all, maybe this is not the busy weekend. The chef have enough time to deal with just 3, 4 tables. What I'm concerned is the attitudes of the waitress. You know you are the front line of the business. Definitely can bring customers back .
Very rude staff and racist. Server doesn't count you as guest unless you are white so unfortunate. Paid $52 includes tax for all you can eat. But all I eat is water lol. It would take forever to come food, but not water though. Go there at your own risk to drink lots of tap water. That's it!!Food: 1/5
The food tastes great as it always does however we are extremely disappointed to find multiple hairs in our food. We found 4 hairs in our food total. When the staff was confronted we were told it was ours. Our daughter had a long black hair wrapped around a noodle. They would not accept any responsibility for this disgusting display. Would NOT recommend going here anymore and it was one of our favorite spots. Disgusted!
Food was pretty good. Seating is a bit small they could upgrade location maybe have a better atmosphere it's a decent dinner spot for the familyFood: 4/5
