There are reasons why restaurants become part of Canadas Top 100 Best Restaurants list and if you go Major Tom you will understand why. It isn't just about the food albeit it is a big part of it but I've been to a number of rooftop or high floor restaurants and this one feels different. As if it isn't part of an office tower or hotel and that it just exists by itself with magnificent views of the city. The decor was on point. It felt like a cool smoking lounge without the smoking with fantastic design that complimented the approach to the drink menu and elevated that ambiance. Hospitality is alive again post pandemic and the touches and touch points from the host at the main floor checking you in and guiding you to the elevator all the way to the staff recognizing any dietary restrictions and/or special occasions it made you feel like you were the only ones there. And of course the food and the drinks are done in a way that feels upscale yet approachable definitely have the cheese toast. The drinks are amazing and they have put a twist on old classics making them new again. Can't wait to be back and highly recommend.
One of the greatest restaurants/ bars I have been to since moving to Calgary! I will absolutely be a regular here moving forward! So glad my friend introduced me to this spot tonight. Everything from the beginning till the end was an absolute pleasure and experience. Highly recommend literally everything we got tonight. The flavour profiles are absolutely well thought of and created for the enjoyment of the customer. Special thanks to our server Raven P, who was a gentlewoman and a scholar! Amazing time with her hosting us tonight. Can’t wait to go back in and see her, she knew everything on the menu and had great recommendations for my guest and our dietary restrictions. Everything was made super fresh and the quality of ingredients were unbeatable!! Spoke to Britney towards the end to find out about pricing on hosting a reception here! The team and staff are all professionals and so excited about the amazing time we had here! 6 stars instead of 5 if I could! Great job to the owners and management team here the place is incredible. Must go if you’re in Calgary to check out!
Everything we ordered was 10/10. Our server, Colin, was exceptional. He provided great cocktail recommendations catered to the liquor we liked. He was so attentive. Even re folded our napkins when we went to the washroom. Everything we ate was great. Cooked to perfection and not even one complaint. We will be back- if we can get in!! Worth the wait, or the two week reso spot.
We originally had plans to stay for a drink before our other reservation. We loved the drinks, views, service and menu so much we decided to stay!!! The staff took care of everything to make our evening absolutely PERFECT!!!!!..Shout out to our server Colin for being a true gem, going the extra mile and being so good to us for a 10/10 experience. Our first time at Major Tom's and we were so happy we chose to stay!!!! All around great evening, great company and amazing food and drinks throughout every course. The major tots were out of this world!!! The drinks were beautiful and delicious..we will be back again and will bring others for this wonderful city scape from above!!!
A culinary and veiwing experience! It was an experience at Major Tom. Food was a delight a bit expensive especially the steaks but the taste is absolutely amazing. For desert, the baked Alaska is a must. Service was excellent too. Personnel were super friendly and their recommendations spot on. The view of downtown Calgary was a joy. Enhanced the whole culinary experience. Got 4 and not 5 cos of how long it took to get a reservation and the fact that it's pricey. This is a great place for a special occasion
Excellent restaurant overall. Food was delicious, well presented but lacks flair and imagination. The atmosphere is nice, with a feeling of being up in the clouds in this slightly hidden gem. The drinks are delicious especially the non alcoholic " rose colored glasses " which was out of this world good! ! The staff were friendly and approachable and not too pushy, offering just the right amount of service. recommend visiting especially in the evening with a clear night the views are lovely. The only negative thing I could say is the menu is a little unimaginative. If you look at all of Concorde groups restaurants, most not all the menus have similarities and a certain vibe. I feel like they didn't step far enough outside the box this time when it comes to the menu. But, if you want an experience, a special occasion and want to feel fancy this restaurant is well worth a visit.
Such a great experience!! Our server Ash helped us choose some great options from the menu based on our preferences and dietary restrictions. All of the food and drinks were phenomenal!! The manager Bree took many extra steps to ensure our experience was as memorable as possible. Will definitely be spreading the word how amazing Major Tom is!
The menu is unique with really interesting dishes. There has been so much hype about this place that my expectations were really high. The view is beautiful of course. The dishes are small but tasty. The service is exceptional. My favorite dishes were the Golden Beet Salad and the Crab & Shrimp Roll.
We were late for our reservation and I know how busy this place gets. They were actually still able to accommodate us, besides us being 20 mins late which was a nice surprise! The food & service was amazing! I loved the oysters, they were fantastic. Our mains were delicious as well! I had about 4 cocktails and they were all very crafted and delightful + who can go wrong with the beautiful views of downtown Calgary! I will definitely be back soon!
Great experience. The views were fantastic. The food was pretty good. Is it worth the price? Debatable. Is it worth the experience? 100% yes. We got the Rigatoni & Steak Frites, then finished off with the Old Fashion Baked Alaska. We do not recommend the Old Fashion Baked Alaska unless you don’t mind the taste of bourbon. The environment was more so on the fancy side, though casual attire was not frowned upon. The people working were all really kind, but service was slow. Took almost a whole hour before our food order was taken. It was quite busy though, so this can be expected. Finding parking downtown was stressful and problematic. We spent 15 minutes driving around trying to find a spot to park. We recommend leaving early to arrive on time!!
