Easily one of the top restaurants in Hamilton that offers a unique experience with a very well crafted menu! The atmosphere is fun and friendly. The food is delicious and unique. The staff is welcoming and personable. Given its popularity, make sure to order take out ahead of time and make reservations! This place books up fast and their food can sell out quick!
Great service, great food, great drinks, with a cool setting! Easily some of the best pizza I've ever had. Even though the dough is thick, it still has a light and airy taste to it. The tomato sauce used on the pizza was delicious. The Taiwanese dry-rub wings were also incredible, super crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Also tried the dill fries, classic pep pizza and the garlic pizza. Everything was amazing, including our drinks! The restaurant itself has such a cool vibe also. Will definitely be back!
Loved our visit! Fresh, yummy crafted food. Placement and ingredients and taken into serious consideration. Drinks are strong and worth the heavy price tag. We loved the embellishments and I appreciate the bar and our server, both who were awesome, for making me a mojito. The vibe was excellent. Each booth had a theme and the lighting was low but not too bad. Some of the other patrons were loud from drinking more than they should have but the place doesn't let anyone get rowdy. You have to go several times to really experience this place. Despite the shady part of Barton they have made their home, this place is a real gem.
The pizza was good not great. Was very excited to try it since a few people recommended it. We had the “do you wanna” and the flavours of the ricotta, marmalade and nduja worked perfectly together however they felt as if they were placed on top of some very hard dough, they didn’t feel connected. The quantity is also not worth the price 20$ for a small, I know cost of food has gone up but this is just not fair. Might try again another time and hope for a better outcome. We also had the pickle fries and those were excellent.
I was a bit disappointed by the price to quality ratio. The pizza was good, but not great. For $38.36 I expected higher quality, if not more quantity. I had the Supreme pizza. It was cooked well, nice cheese and sauce. Olives were tasteless, which is odd for such a strong flavour. The garlic sauce was quite nice. Will probably try another variant next again in the future, hopefully it will live up to the other, more positive reviews.
Mai Pai has such a great atmosphere! We had ordered takeout from here in the past but this was our first time dining in and we will definitely be back. The cocktails and beer selection were great and the pizza is out of this world good. We ordered the vegan versions of the Do You Wanna and the Chicken Bacon Ranch also wanted to shout out Josh at the bar who made us feel very welcome!
Been to this place multiple times and it’s only for their aesthetic tiki interior but for the changing drink menu and Detroit style pizza! Got their Chicken Bacon Ranch and Mikey the MVP pizzas alongside the Pickle Nick Fries. We love that the crust is thick and crispy which surprisingly does not mellow the taste of the toppings. Highly recommend getting the Pickle Nick Fries if you are a fan of pickles! This time when we bought the Christmas drinks, we noticed that the drinks were mainly strong alcohol and not as balanced as their usual drinks were. Still looking forward to going back and trying their other dishes!
What a cool place. You need to check it out for the decor and vibes. We shared a couple drinks. They were all tasty. We didn't get any food, but there were pizza orders non stop from the kitchen.
Heard about this place and went in with Hugh expectations, and they were MET! I really enjoyed the vibe of the place, there was good lighting to see the food and drinks. Unique glasses were used for some drinks and the food was amazing! Had the Pickle Nick Fries and Pepperoni Pile-on pizza for food. For drinks, had their featured drink, “Orbiting the 6th Planet” and “A Riverboat called victory”. Really enjoyed the featured drink, highly recommend for gin lovers out there! The pickle nick fries were soo good - especially loved the sauce that was drizzled on it! The pizza *chefs kiss* the scotch bonnet honey paired with the pepperoni and ricotta, just great! The crust was nice and crispy and was thick. Highly recommend checking out this gem!
Maipai on Barton street in Hamilton is simply fabulous. I was skeptical due to the location but this gem is absolutely the biggest highlight of the area. Take the rest of the area down and build from Maipai. The decor inside the restaurant is just super fun and delightful. You are greeted by a host who carefully takes you to your table. Overall the ambiance is one of the best in Hamilton. It’s different and it’s meant to be different. The restaurant is clean and there is excellent staff working to make your experience great. The drinks are great and come in fun mugs. The attention to detail even down to the nicely shaped ice is all done well. They are well proportioned and decorated with umbrellas. The pizza. What can you say about the pizza? Best in Hamilton is what you can say. It truly is the star and they have something for everyone. The gluten free pizza is one of the best. Even if you’re not on a gluten free diet you’ll love it. So how much should you buy? Two to three slices can feed hungry adult males. We group of 4 ordered a total of 3 pizzas at 4 slices each. We took home 2 slices. The dips are nice but not needed as the pizza is so good. Dips usually help hide the taste of bad pizza. Not needed here. Parking is a bit difficult. Street parking on the busy Barton Street is tough. Parking lots are a bit away from there. Give yourself a few extra minutes to find parking. Check this place out. It’s truly a fantastic Hamilton spot.
