Second time eating here. It’s bigger on the inside than what it looks like from the parking lot. Both times we have not had a problem getting a table and one was a busy night for them. Today we had a party of 6 and were seated in a private room which I didn’t know they had. It worked out well because my 4 kids and myself tend to be on the louder side. Got the fries and nachos appetizers. We probably could have skipped the fries because each kid got fries with their meal. The nachos are good, the cheese sauce is poured over the chips and the toppings are in piles around the plate. This works out well for people that do not like all the toppings. I ordered the Frenched Chicken. It was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. I also tried the Thai chicken pasta and enjoyed that as well. Overall we had a good time and plan on returning in the future.
This place is a hidden gem right in the heart of St. Michael! We were first time diners & our visit was wonderful. There weren’t any tables available was a Friday night & we decided to sit at the bar. Our bartender was so sweet; the vibe at this place is also very relaxed. Highly recommend the mushroom risotto I added salmon. Their lemonade is homemade & AMAZING too!
I had a great time at the Main Street Farmer Eatery last night and I would love to share my experience: I will start with our server, Devan, who arrived at our table just after we sat down and very much played a part in guaranteeing a great experience for us. She was energetic, excited to be there and clearly passionate about the work/art being provided at the Main Street Farmer Eatery. Being that it was a busy Saturday night at the restaurant I can understand how that might overwhelm servers with the mass amount of food, drinks and other requests coming from all tables under her watch - not her. She made it a certainty that we were more than happy with our experience at the table and with the food/drinks. Next time we visit which WILL be happening we would love to have her as our server again. As for the meal, I had their Signature Frenched Chicken which is a chicken breast stuffed with garlic-sage cheese, wrapped in prosciutto mashed potatoes, pan-gravy & long green beans. These are some of my favorite foods and it was immaculate. The chicken was a great mix between what I'm assuming is grilled and baked, the green beans were fresh and flavorful and the mashed potatoes were arguably my favorite part of the meal. Additionally, it was a healthy size portion. I was full before my food was gone but I couldn't help but clean my plate. It was so good that we had Devan give our compliments to the Chef. After a few minutes the Chef, Zach, came to our table to speak with us about the meal. We had to tell him just how pleased we were with the food. We found out that he is 24 years old and never went to culinary school and is self-taught. I found this to be an incredible feat as in my personal opinion his cooking could compete with, and even beat, some fine-dining restaurants in downtown Minneapolis. My only gripe is that this restaurant has been here for years and I haven't taken the time to stop in sooner. As we were about to head out for the night the owner, Jonathan, stopped by our table to say thank you for coming in and was pleased to hear about our experience from his staff. We had a great conversation about his prior experiences in this industry and found out that he also owns the BK Tap Haus next door so that's where we headed next. The General Manager, Tony, greeted us once we sat down at our table. We proceeded to have a couple drinks over the course of the next 2 hours to conclude our night in the town. To summarize: the staff, food, environment and experience was unforgettable. I'm not usually the type to write reviews about restaurants but they absolutely deserved this one. We will be back.
Outstanding from food to service to staff and social interactions! Minneapolis/St.Paul has nothing over on this suburban fun spot. While not everyone is passionate about food, it is an art form and Zack, the chef, is truly a food artist in presentation and the art of fabulous flavors! It actually brought tears to my eyes. While that may sound sappy, it was an experience I have never had in any of the high end eating establishements in the MSP metro or any of the other 30 cities around the country I have visited for good food. Jonathon and Tony you guys rock on both sides of the building and I will sing your praises at every opportunity. If any of you decide not to eat here, it's your loss and a missed opportunity. Well done Jonathon! You've put St.Michael on the map with an outstanding experience for every taste bud on ones palette, including the fine scotch selection. You have become my "go to" place for food, friends, family and fun! God bless you guys and keep up the fabulous work! Tim
It was my first time experience on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was really comfortable and enjoyable. The bar staff was very personable and attentive. I ordered the Hot Tennessee Chicken Sandwich. It was okay. The piece of chicken itself was very thin and not very meaty. It also felt and tasted overcooked. The sandwich itself could have used a little smear of something to moisten it up. Pretty disappointing from my perspective. The sandwich itself was a decent size and the fries on the side were very tasty.
Fantastic food and presence to the whole restaurant. Burger and fries were so good, and the Frenched Chicken was so tasty! To finish it off, we had the best carrot cake I've ever had. We will definitely be back and it will be our new spot to recommend to all of our friends.Food: 5/5
Our server Devin was great. My wife ordered the cheese burger “pink” and it came well done, which resulted in it being very dry. I ordered the chicken wrapped with prosciutto, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken and mashed potatoes were good but the green beans were too hard. The manager did reach out to me right away and apologized for our experience. I agreed to give them another chance. I do appreciate the quick response from him!!
My husband and I dined here on a Thursday evening and overall had a great experience. Our server was attentive and polite, it was fairly busy for dinner time but we didn't have to wait very long for our orders. Our cocktails were on the weaker side but very flavorful so we weren't unhappy about it. We split a corn fritters appetizer, the jalapeno cabbage slaw and blueberry jam helped add a wonderfully fresh flavor to lighten up the fried dish. My husband had the Thai peanut pasta which was delicious but really did not seem to incorporate any Thai flavors, peanuts dishes are not exclusive to south east asia so we weren't sure if there were flavors we weren't picking up on. It wasn't what we expected but it was delicious regardless. I had the Georgia peach salad which was fresh and filling, perfect for a hot late summer evening. We had a great visit and will definitely be back to try more dishes.
Will never step foot in this restaurant again. Charging top tier restaurant prices, I would expect top quality food. Serving a burger well done, when asked for as close to rare as possible, is not hard. Was later told, it's pink or no pink. Hate to see how they cook a steak. Bacon was rock hard, new burger was brought out, and was cooked the way I asked. However, by this time, the rest of or party had finished their meals. So fun eating after everyone is finished. Did not even notice at the end of our table, our kids chicken straps weren't eaten because they were dark brown, curled up, and dry as a bone. Once again, it isn't hard to cook chicken strips. The fact that this stuff made it to our table is a joke, with nobody on quality control. I would have expected to atleast have my drink comped for the poor service. But NOPE, happily charged full price. Very disappointed.
My wife and I had dinner here a few weeks ago. We've been coming here 2-3 times a year since they opened. Although the staff has changed over the years, they have always been able to provide the same top notch dinning experience. It all starts with the very convenient parking. Once in the door you can't help but notice the really cool bar with the backlit bottles against the brick wall. Very classy. The host/hostess have always been right there to greet you at least within a minute, and are always very personable. The wait staff has been consistently very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and very attentive. It's always great to be taken care of here. I like that the newer restaurant manager comes to the table to check in on us also. The food has never disappointed. I believe they had just launched their new winter menu, but we had come in for burger night and stuck to the plan. I think my wife had the chicken sandwich though. We will return this winter to try some new stuff. I always make it a point to walk over to the chef and compliment him and everyone behind the scenes on our usual fantastic dining experience at MSF. I happened to catch the owner also. Really nice guy. He's really done a great job on hiring and training in my opinion. They're always firing on all cylinders!! which is really hard to do
