You know you really enjoyed the meal when you don’t have a photo to prove it. It may just be coffee, but this place has my heart- every detail is so well thought out, from the music to ambiance to the people working there. This isn’t your typical we want to bring you a slapstick version of Indian culture- this is authentic to its tea or should I say coffee. I will make sure I pay this place another visit soon.. and can’t wait to sit and enjoy in the patio! Amazing amazing amazing.
Very cute cafe! Tried their filter kaapi, idli and chocolate rose cake. Coffee was delicious! Idli was not freshly made but it was soft and tasty so no complaints there. The cake was surprisingly really good, it did have a prominent rose flavor to it. A tad bit expensive but really liked it so I'll definitely be back!
I’ve been eyeing this coffee place since even before they opened and when I saw that they’re finally open, I went to grab a latte to go since I was on my way to work. I wish I could’ve stayed to really enjoy the place! Really cute interior and decor! I will definitely try their filter coffee and enjoy some pastries that they offer. The staff was friendly too
Madras Kaapi is one of the coolest hangout in Toronto. The food and coffee reminds me of home. So delicious and made with love. You can also book the place for gatherings the patio is so beautiful and romantic. It's perfect for anniversary or birthday parties, book launch , pop up shops etc. It is so peaceful and quiet.
Great little cafe serving authentic south indian filter coffees with great ambience. Coffee were excellent and felt nostalgic. I had idly podi with ghee as a side and did not regretted it. Highly recommended place.
Home! There's no place on earth where I've seen my dad light up with passion from coffee. There's no place in the continent that has coffee that has intense flavors of nostalgia and locality!! The all vegetarian menu and unique style and skill required to craft delicacies are truly to die for, and I could not recommend this place more. The aroma just makes you stay in and never want to leave, and the owners and employees are so welcoming and friendly, it truly felt like home. Not only that, this place is so eco friendly too! There is truly something for every type of person here and if you're by the area it would be a shame to not stop by. Eating the idli just made me smile from ear to ear, it tasted heavenly!! I've never tried an egg roll before, and I'm so glad this was my first time because I've never had anything so rich in flavor with such simple ingredients. And THE COFFEE!!!! I was amazed by the design on the top and once I brought myself to actually taste the kappi mocha I instantly became a coffee person!!! They also sell powder and memorabilia if you further want to bring the fine tastes of India into your home. I couldn't recommend further, and I've never been so sure to give this place a 10/5!!! Make sure to try!!!! Vegetarian options: All vegetarian! Dietary restrictions: The owner was really knowledgeable about the menu!!!
What a beautiful Cafe! Simple menu and tasty food. Coffee was great and was served in traditional way. I really enjoyed the idli with ghee. I could taste the ghee which I think made them even better. Veggie Puff was really really good. Highly recommend. I loved the fact that everything was sustainable, cutlery, plates, cups. I would definitely visit again whenever I am in the area.
I got the Ginger cardamom chai and the idly podi +ghee. My drink is absolutely aromatic and tasty! The idly is a tad spicy for me but the other spices are incredibly different tasting to my tongue and I love it! The atmosphere is very relaxing . Lots of plants and lots of resemblance of India. Very beautiful great place to hang out.
By luck I read an article about this authentic, newly opened South Indian cafe so close to my house. Greater by a vibrant inviting shop facade, beckoning us inside. The decor transports one back to South India. The fragrant smells of spices and coffee greats us with eagerness. Intoxicating inviting and droolsome! It’s colourful and tastefully decorated with curios echoing indian artefacts. Flashes of hot pick and red flowers with wall filled with photos The filter coffee was perfect, rich brewed coffee in the original Gemini coffee filter straight from Chennai India. The ghee soaked idlis soft and fluffy and spiced with the masala podi. The besan laddu was average, hopefully they shall improve the recipe. The service was excellent, cheerful attentive and polite. We loved the idli and coffee so much that we took a take out parcel of 3 plates vegan and the veg puff was delicious just ate with out taking a picture and a vegan filter coffee along with a chocolate brownie. Loved the rustic Indian music, the vibes decor and the food. Beautiful place for some great coffee and idli. Alone or with someone special and even in a bunch of family and friends.it’s a place to keep coming back. Ps: please add some more varieties of idlis and snacks. Waiting to go back.
Aesthetically gorgeous. The vibrate pinks all around the shop and you feel welcomed and happy. The owners are extremely kind and humble. Not to mention - the coffee Kaapi is smooth and delicious ! Lemon cake was yummy as well as the Veggie puff !!
