My family and I decided to try this place out after hearing good things. I don't have any experience with Doubles, so have nothing to compare against, and cannot make any claims as to how authentically it replicates the "true" food. What I can claim though, is that the food is good and the service was outstanding. As this our first time, we did not know what to order and the staff was very helpful and took a lot of time to discuss the various options and to make suggestions based on other things we enjoy. She was friendly and seemed to genuinely care that we would enjoy the food that we ordered. We waited about 15 minutes for our order to be ready for takeout. There is a very small seating area, which was empty, but I suspect most of their business is takeout. There were no public bathrooms available for use. I enjoyed the food. My kids tried most of the things we ordered and liked some of it. There are other places I enjoy more, but if I was asked to go here again, I know that I'd find something that I would enjoy, and would be happy to try something different as well. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options. Parking: Plenty of free parking in the plaza. Wheelchair accessibility: The doorway from the side walk is flat from the sidewalk, but there is no automatic door. No public bathrooms available for anyone.
So we decided to try our newest local Caribbean restaurant and omg we were blown away…100% the best doubles we have had and we love our doubles. Honestly brought us to back home eating a doubles by the stand and knocking down a apple J. We also ordered a aloo roti with curry chicken sauce and a shrimp roti both wrapped in paratha roti. They were the bomb so soft and fluffy and l am picky as l can make my own so l expect to get quality. Hats off to your establishment for providing the community exceptional quality Caribbean food. Everything was savoury. Thank you and blessings.
I would give this 10 stars if I could. Went yesterday and got stew chicken, jerk chicken and doubles. Everything was amazing and completely authentic, I felt like I was in Trinidad again please order yourself doubles. Would recommend this place to everyone I know as I have been on the hunt for some good Trini food and nothing has even come close to this place. You get alot of food, not very expensive and tastes amazing.
Had family came in from Sarnia and decided to try this place for the first time. We came close to closing time and ordered a bunch of food. The owner is nice, friendly and very accommodating to our large order. I had the shrimp roti and goat doubles, while my husband had the jerk chicken. Everything we bought was delicious and flavourful. I want to go back and try everything on their menu. Would definitely be our go to place for Caribbean food!!!!
My wife brought home a Boneless Goat Roti for lunch. Fantastic! Extra spicy had some legit heat. Big chunks of meat.Food: 5/5
You have to go! Been to a few Caribbean food places in KW and have been searching for the best tasting... found it! Had the doubles, Goat Roti, and Chicken Roti. The buss up shut paratha roti was proper! All the meats were tender and flavorful.
If you love good west indian food this is the spot!! I was so impressed with the classic doubles with chickpea curry. But when I tried the goat doubles and chicken doubles... it was next level delicious. All of the sauces were also on point. The mango sauce / tamarind sauce were perfectly balanced. I cannot wait to go back :. We also requested the chicken curry with no extra spice for the kids and they were able to enjoy our cultural food which was wonderful.
I love it! Second time coming to Madhu's and I'll be a regular in no time. The service is so courteous, the chef is very kind and is happy to explain the menu if you aren't familiar with the Trinidadian dishes. Boneless chicken roti is so delicious, especially with a side of their gravy! The shrimp double is amazing as well.
You won't go there for atmosphere, but you should go for the delicious Caribbean food. It has tables to sit at, but they seem more geared towards pick up orders. The doubles are well priced and melt in your mouth. They have goat, duck, chicken, and vegetarian among their options. My wife is gluten free, and with rice and peas, or curried potatoes as a side, there's lots to pair it with. If you're not a fan of spicy food, definitely get it without. We like a bit of heat and found the medium spice definitely with Scotch bonnet pepper sauce tasty, but worthy of several glasses of milk. A filling lunch no drinks for 4 adults was about $50 all in. We will definitely be back.
Decided to try out this little spot . Friendly service. Smiles were free and nuff! Food? Excellent!!! Price .. very reasonable. Food portion..very good. Flavours ..authentic and well spiced. Will definitely go back! Doubles are worth going back! Thank you guys!
