A busy, bustling little gem on Gabriola. Excellent coffee, lots of comfy places to sit and talk including a lovely outdoor area. Not a ton of gluten free foods but we did enjoy a big GF peanut butter cookie and the Americanos were delicious. Quick service and the staff were friendly. Our fave coffee spot on Gabriola.
Every time I come to Gabriola I have to get a coffee from Mad Rona’s. The location is perfect as it is close to the market center of the community and ferry terminal. Lots of parking available including handicap spaces. Inside there is lots of room to sit. Choose by the fire to be cozy or sit at the large communal table as it is a cool designed piece with swing out chairs. Outside has a great patio area with nice landscaping and trees. There is a cool awning design for hot sunny days. The usual coffee selection that you would expect of a quality cafe. My last visit I had their homemade Nanaimo bars which were so good, definitely get one of you want something sweet. Their wraps are also fresh and tasty if you are feeling hungry.
Really laid-back atmosphere, lots of comfortable seating including a beautiful patio & long list of beverage choices. There’s a decent breakfast menu served until 11:30am, and yogurt parfaits+bagels all day. For lunch, there’s a variety of sandwiches/wraps/paninis, and a pleasant assortment of pastries/muffins. Good to fuel up before/after a ferry ride, fairly inexpensive and filling. Would go just for decor and aesthetic coffee, but the food makes it achieve greatness.
Thee best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had! Delicious coffee, and lovely ambience. Convenient location right when you get off the ferry. I always look forward to coming here when I visit family on the island. Can’t say good enough things

Good portions, quick service, delicious coffee, even more delicious food. We especially enjoyed the Westcoast sandwich, pineapple coconut smoothies, and iced lattes. Nice and open seating with a good environment. We went every day of our trip!

Nice open concept space, with wide garage style doors that open in summer onto a plant-surrounded patio. I also love the variety of seating and grouping options; cozy armchairs, long wood slab group table, seating near a fireplace, peaceful outdoor patio. I have come a number of times to enjoy their Americano Misto Breve -- one of the best in the province for me: However I was disappointed to learn they have no swiss water decaf options for any of their coffees, since this type of decaf is my preference. Staff have all been lovely, friendly, and talented at customer service and coffee prep-- hurray!: I haven't tried the food but my son devoured one of their wraps. Highly recommend stopping in if you're on Gabriola.I
