Macu Tea at Capstan Way is a go-to spot for bubble tea lovers. The Mango Smoothie and Sunshine Li-Li Tea are must-tries, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and refreshment. Their seasonal drinks, like the Peach Oolong Tea, are also a hit, featuring fresh, in-season ingredients. The shop has a modern vibe, and while seating is limited, the friendly and efficient service makes up for it. Prices are reasonable, making it a great place for a quick, delicious drink.
This spot very well known for the King of Mango smoothie - that is until mango season ends. When that happens, go for grape.nnAll the drinks are good.nnChi-chi means cheese foam.nnThere can be line ups and be aware that parking in this plaza during peak hours can be challenging.
My first time getting a drink from Macu. It’s in one of Richmond’s strip malls so parking can be hit or miss; we found a spot, though. This place is popular; I always see a line up and it was no different today. It’s basically order to take-out as there is no seating. The cashier was a bit difficult to understand because of her accent and lack of vocabulary, but she was very patient with us. My honey lemonade was very refreshing. I’d return to try other menu items.
Do you love mango?! Have you ever dreamed of just straight up drinking mango through a straw?! MACU TEA has you covered! Try their King of Mango Smoothie… and you won’t regret it.nnAs my first time, I christened it with a King of Mango Smoothie! The tea jelly was an interesting flavour and the pomelo was a bonus. It wasn’t very smoothie like to be honest, as it really felt like you were just drinking mango. It’s not my favourite time of “bubble tea”, but it’s very good for any mango lovers out there.nnNext time I’d like to give their milk tea a try and their “chi chi”! It looks interesting. Hence the 4 starsnnThere’s no place to sit and most of it is self order using the machine they have in the front. You can pay by cash after putting in your order in the machine, and go to the till next to it and someone will come to help you.nnThe store is small so when waiting it’s a bit cramped.nnIt was very busy when I came, but I got my drinks in less than 5 mins! That’s 3 King of Mango smoothies!
Curious after seeing a long line at Macu Tea on Capstan Way, I decided to give it a try. Many reviews raved about their famous King Mango Chichi and Chichi Grape Smoothies and the Bobos. The Bobos has the extra agar they said but I don’t know what that is so I went with the Chichi Strawberry as the grape and mango is out of stock.nnAs someone health-conscious, I initially hesitated because the drink looked heavy in pictures. However, after watching how they prepared it behind the counter, I was impressed. They use fresh ingredients and load the drinks with real fruit, which immediately gave me confidence. Sure enough, the Chichi Strawberry was incredible—packed with a cup of fresh strawberries and topped with cheese foam. It was so good! It was like strawberry and cheese.nnWhat surprised me most was the jasmine-scented jelly sinker at the bottom. The drink wasn’t overly sweet, which I appreciated, and I liked it so much that I’m now curious to try more from Macu’s smoothie series—it’s absolutely worth it.nnAs for their milk tea, it was just average, similar to what you’d find elsewhere. But what sets Macu apart are their Bobo and Chichi drinks. The quality of the fruits they use is exceptional, and for that alone, I’m giving Macu Tea 5 stars!
