This place is overrated. The burgers were thin patties and had a fishy low quality beef taste to them. The fries were nothing special and 4 burgers, 2 fries and 4 cans of pop was $40. Its popular only because of the location right on the beach but the food is terrible, period. Now, I will say that its clean, and has some games for the kids. They had fun so I gave it a second star. Maybe go for some fries as a snack but choose one of the other restaurants in Port Stanley for lunch.

The food quality seems to vary based on busyness, which I suppose makes sense.. came on a Tuesday for lunch one day and the fries were crispy and delicious. Next time, it was a Sunday and fries were mushy and lacked a lot of flavour. The employees are always so friendly and nice! I wish they had air conditioning in there- I feel so bad for the employees!! My husband and I were there for 15 minutes standing in line and were completely drenched- I can't imagine working in the kitchen in the summer heat!

Starting to get old and a bit grubby, needs a face lift. Food is good for fast food. Prices are comparable to other similar places.

It's tradition. My grandfather used to bring my father to Mackie's in the seventies - simply put, I do not visit Port Stanley without eating at Mackie's. Yes, the lineups can be long, but the wait is worth it. Their home cut fries are a staple around the Main beach, and their 'secret' Orangeaid is refreshing on a hot day. They have arcade games for the kids, and also serve Shaw's ice-cream. Their bathrooms are clean and offer free beach side parking to their customers. It just wouldn't be Port Stanley without Mackie's.
