MacKenzie Art Gallery
"The MacKenzie Art Gallery is Saskatchewan’s oldest and most compelling public art gallery, offering original exhibitions of works by local national and international artists. The MacKenzie’s vision both as a Gallery and centre for innovative programming is to foster transformative experiences through experimentation, creativity, and play. From its ambitious beginnings over 60 years ago at what is now the University of Regina, the MacKenzie evolved into an independent public, not-for-profit gallery in 1990. Reflecting the industrious spirit of Norman MacKenzie, the community raised the funds to create the stunning, state-of-the-art professional space the Gallery now calls home in the T.C. Douglas Building in the heart of Wascana Park."

If Museums hold our past narrative, then Art Galleries have the opportunity to shape the vision we want for our future one. The Mackenzie Art Gallery in Regina is a STUNNING place! Walking in and seeing sculptures of elderly women, a pregnant woman reading a book, a child being kind to an elder in a wheel chair, an elderly couple clearly in love, amidst the most gorgeous indoor garden was a breathtaking, hope filling experience. The gallery's exhibitions were mindblowing, edgy, provocative and beautiful and left me full of questions and wonderings. An absolutely incredible building and experience.
I recently visited The MacKenzie gallery in Regina and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The gallery showcases contemporary artwork from some of the best artists on the Prairies, and I always make sure to make time for this gallery whenever I am in Regina. The exhibitions are thoughtfully curated and provide a great opportunity to see meaningful, thought-provoking pieces. Additionally, the gift shop offers unique and beautiful pieces from talented potters, making it a great place to pick up a souvenir or a special gift. Overall, I highly recommend The MacKenzie for anyone looking for a quality art experience in Regina.
The staff are great, really friendly and helpful. The facility is very welcoming and exhibitions are interesting and you can check online before you go to see what is currently showing.
Nice place to hangout for family. They have a kids room to explore.
Prefer place for Arts lover in Town
My 16 year old and I enjoyed the gallery. My son finds art galleries amusing because of what is considered art but he really liked the white display and we both liked the beaded art display. There were some really interesting things to look at. I would not take a young child here, they wouldn’t understand or appreciate it.
I was here last week. This place came highly recommended. I know art can be subjective, but I didn't really enjoy my visit. The staff were polite and nice, but there wasn't much to see for that amount you pay in gate fees. On the good side, parking was free, and the facility is clean. I don't think I'll be returning.
Small gallery with a decent collection of art work. If you're in Regina with a few mins to spare, drop by. The admission is free and the gallery is housed in a very well designed building.
Nice place with free wifi, nice staff and a good souvenir "art" shop. Go at left when you entry in the building entrance. I did not specially was attracted and charmed by the arts. But with the free admission and donation system I was happy to be able to go by myself and make my own opinion about. This is interesting to spend few hours there
A clean and welcoming gallery. Cool gift shop and classy Cafe.
