3.5 out of 5 stars for me. Really unique place and has been run for 84 years. We came on a Friday so it was packed plus we waited an extra 20 minutes even though we had a reservation. For decor, I really enjoyed the vintage hunting lodge atmosphere. A true time capsule. This is just like a Wisconsin supper club and most entrees come with soup, salad and bread with big portions. Enjoyed the french onion soup, salad with creamy garlic dressing and the brandy ice for dessert. For the entree, I had the Vienna Platter. The duck was excellent but the wiener schnitzel was tough as hell. Also, our server barely checked on us. Didn't offer to refill our waters, ask us if we wanted to order more cocktails and neglected to even ask us how our food was. Overall it was a positive experience and I would return but would hope for better service.
Food was awesome with large portions especially Italian Night. Staff were very nice. Good ambiance. Prices were in the range of what you'd expect a mid to high end restaurant would be. I would definitely go again.
It was a nice restaurant the staff was very nice and the service was good. The food was good and the prices were very reasonable. They have lots of specialties. I would recommend getting one of those.
We spent nice time. I had a Bohemian Plate it was good, but the duck wasn't very fresh.
First time dining here. I was very excited to have a nice adult meal with the wife w.o kiddos. I was very pleased with the everything from the staff, decor and most of all the food. It was amazing. Best cream of chicken rice ever! I got the duck and Weiner schnitzel. The wife did the fish fry. It was so good. And to top it all off we got to see someone playing music on the accordion. Phenomenal time. This is a must visit restaurant. A++
The bar was interesting and the prices were very good. They decorate with money! The food was wonderful! They were pretty busy that night and not too speedy, but we didn't mind.Food: 5/5
food was okay. got the baked french onion soup and buffalo chicken sandwich. the french onion wasn't bad- kind of bland i've had better sandwich was meh. the chicken was gray and it grossed me out halfway. the fries and bread were yummy. service was okay! the prices on their menu need to be updated not really a czech place like it says!
My son and I dined there right when it opened. He couldn't wait... Since yesterday he had his heart set on it. We were warmly welcomed,, ordered drinks, an appetizer and our meals. We received our drinks fine, with the appetizer, but then others came in after us, and they also ordered, then were served before we were. We waited an hour for our fish dinners. I ordered dumplings and sweet sour cabbage, then received dry dumplings, and sauerkraut. They kept coming to get our plates and things; giving us the idea that they wanted us to be done. He said his "all you can eat" fish was okay; yet was better last time. We were just so very disappointed.
Atmosphere was decent, but a bit too dark during dinner and it was chilly, almost as if a window were open to the negative temperature outside. Service was lacking as it took a long time for anyone to come around to take our order and people rudely reached across our faces to pick up plates without announcing themselves or asking if we were done with the plate. I was beyond displeased with the food, especially at the fairly high price point. I ordered a steak cooked medium well and it was basically burnt. The asparagus was completely unseasoned and was more or less still raw. It is sad for this to be my first experience here because my Grandma has been visiting since she was less than 10 years old and has spoken highly of it until this visit.
The only nice thing I can say about this place is that it was cute and that is where it stops. I got sick to my stomach before leaving the restaurant, need I say more? For the prices and the quality, how is it still packed? People were bringing the leftovers home with them... you really want to eat THAT again? We got the soup and salad which was pretty ok, but from there it was right downhill. From the watery fish to the overcooked steaks everything was pretty flavorless. Out of desperation, we got German chocolate cake, how can something be soggy and dry at the same time? I know you are a suburban supper club, but you need to up your game and season things better. We will certainly never be coming back.
