During mid-July to early September, I traveled throughout Canada on an extended road trip. This cruise on Lake of the Woods was one of the highlights of my trip.nnAs someone who lives in southern Ontario, I had no idea how beautiful Kenora and the surrounding areas are. If you enjoy nature and/or boat rides, then I would highly recommend this cruise.
We had a great experience. Went to Kenora for a day trip and spent 2 hrs on this cruise. Saw some eagles too!nnI definitely recommend standing in line as soon as you get there, seeing as later groups may not have a great view from the lower levels.
Great time with our 2 kids age 8 and 3. Lots to see, perfect amount of time, and they thought it was very cool.nnSome reviews mention that you might not get a seat or be stuck in the basement … the way to avoid that for certain is to get the dinner. Then you have a booth in the middle deck with a huge window while you eat… that booth is yours for the duration of the cruise to come and go. If the boat was at full capacity it might feel crowded at the top deck, so it is nice to know you have a landing place back at your booth if you need it.nnWe went on a Wednesday evening and it was great, not too busy. Had dinner and spent the rest of the time checking out the upper and lower deck afterwards.nnFriendly staff and the food was good as well. Some reviews mention it being run down but it’s fine. It’s obviously not a brand new boat but it’s clean and nice.
The booking process is streamlined, the staff is friendly and does a great job serving everyone. The upper deck gets filled up fast, it’ll be worth it to have seats assigned during booking. The main deck is great. However, the lower deck is not worth it.

And maybe the next day too!!nnSo beautiful on the lake, the staff was all lovely, and the informational commentary all throughout the sailing was very enjoyable.
