My Review is for Lydale Saskatoon, I just think everyone should know how this company is run.
The disaster response team was great, except for they did not send in the flooring sample to ICC as agreed upon with SGI. Extended all the work 1.5 weeks!
Over the course of our 2 month restoration project numerous phone calls were made to clarify the schedule & responsibilities with Lydale. I followed up each phone call with an email.
Every Time I thought there was a schedule with Lydale I was told it was my responsibility to organize.
When I tried to organize a schedule with Lydale and AC flooring, I’d be told by Lydale it was already scheduled with a hint of annoyance. I apologized but I don't think it was accepted.
There may have been confusion regarding the Scope, but it was either not looked at or ignored.
Friday Aug 4th I became concerned when I was told by Lydale it was ready for flooring, My tenant would tell me they came by for 10 minutes each day that week I naturally became concerned because it would take a lot longer to remove/replace 2ft of damaged drywall in the bathroom, and remove baseboards throughout the apartment.
That's when I decided to stop in after work to see how things were going; none of the baseboards were removed, which is required to put down new flooring. This I believe is when things went downhill, and our relationship went sour.
I still continued to communicate and tried not to aggravate. I just wanted to be informed.
Thursday Aug 17th there was some questions about what rooms Lydale wanted flooring done first, I emailed and called to clarify, it was made clear to me by Lydale that they were organizing this part of the project with AC Flooring. Freddy from Lydale informed me via telephone they would start the last phase of the restoration project Tuesday Aug 22; I of course followed up with an email.
Sunday Aug 20th I emailed to remind Lydale of the Aug 22nd start date, and that there would be preventative pest control Aug 24th and no work could be done that day.
Monday Aug 21st I called and spoke with Kent to reconfirm my email and the start date of Aug 22nd.
I felt I did a good job confirming appointments and would just follow up end of the week.
Then I got a call from my Tenant Wednesday Aug 23rd saying Lydale has not showed up Tuesday Aug 22nd or the 23rd.
I called Lydale, Kent & Freddy were out of office, I sent an email.
Called 30mins later and got thru to Kent whom was surprised no one has started.
I was forwarded to Freddy whom now told me they came by on Monday to start work but the flooring was not complete & did not start on the next day as scheduled because no one told him it was done. I'm not sure why they showed up a day early, if flooring was behind schedule I would have informed Lydale as I have been doing even if they were in the loop and had a schedule. I was told they would start immediately Aug 23rd but could not provide a scheduled date of completion. My whole experience with Lydale had been like this.
Sept 1st, Lydale had been trying for 5 days to get a plumber, I only found out it was done when i stopped by the apartment. no one told me it was done.
I would not recommend Lydale for restoration. Demolition in a pinch.
No one at Lydale replies to Emails, you can not contact them on their Cell Phones only by patching thru the office. Their whole communication setup needs to be looked at. I never felt at any one point they were in control or cared. Never had a schedule. They would just pop in random times throughout the day. No one thinks they are doing a bad job, everyone thinks they are going over and above. I just did not experience that or see it.
