Quick service, good food, fresh coffee a nice no nonsense eatery. Everything was well prepared, presented, hot and tasty. Our waitress was Daniel, then another adept lady, coffee was warmed up by a third server regularly. The pickle was crisp and my corned beef sandwich with sauerkraut was great. The rye was browned and toasted to perfection. The cook did a great job this Saturday, 3/25/23. Windy outside, warm and cozy inside. Grits anyone?
*this experience was on August 4, 2021* My breakfast plate of eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon was a large portion and was good. However, I asked for chewy bacon, and only one piece was, so that was a letdown. My boyfriend had a steak sandwich and like another reviewer said below, the steak wasn't the best quality. The onion rings were different than usual fried onion rings with small pieces of diced onion and not onion slices inside - so those weren't fantastic either. There was a waitress very loudly complaining about life, and our waitress was chiming in. While very annoying with the rest of the restaurant being quiet, we were lucky to be able to ignore her for the most part. But the exchange made it hard to sit and enjoy our food. I would recommend finding another coney. There are so many in the area that there is no reason to settle ‍
Great lunch time spot! At least the time I usually hit Lucas! Been here pretty regularly throughout the years. My go to lunch option is the patty melt. Delicious rye bread grilled perfect with beef, onions, cheese, and a few pickles, just the way I like it! They also serve breakfast all day, cant go wrong with a skillet! I've had just about everything except the stir-fry, and it's all very delicious. Open seating atmosphere and comfortable, service is fast and friendly. You cant go wrong with this coney island!
I have never seen the bottom of my coffee cup. The Lucas Omelet is amazing. Breakfast staff is friendly and attentive. My new regular place.Food: 5/5
Our hashbrowns were burned and nasty our biscuits and gravy tasted horrible come on I know you can do better and the woman that took our order was very rude. Your job is customer service im never ordering from you again
We have eaten there several times. I usually get fish and chips, which are very good with nice crunchy texture. We went before Christmas the fish was awful. Thick chewy coating and fish was the size of a fish stick. I inquired about this. The waitress stated, " The cook said it is the same." You can do better Luca's
I really wanted to like them. But if you order from them on GrubHub, please note that they do *not* update their menu. When I ordered a meal that they apparently haven't served in over a year, they just told the driver they were out instead of contacting me and asking if I wanted something else, like every other restaurant does and that they would issue a refund. I called to ask them about it and they suddenly told me they couldn't issue it and I'd have to call GrubHub myself so were they planning on letting me know that if I hadn't called?. They don't take responsibility for contracting through GrubHub nor for updating their menu there, and both people I talked to on the phone were super rude. I hope the dining-in service is better, but definitely don't order from them for delivery if you'd like to actually receive the food you ordered or the appropriate refund without having to waste more time calling around.
I always get the super skillet when I go to this place. And their wings are really good. I tried the cornbeef hash and it's nasty to me. But the superskillet makes up for it big time.Food: 5/5
Luca's is my favorite coney island anywhere. I have never been here when it is not packed. The food is very good if you know what to expect: greasy and huge portions. My fave: veggie omlette with a side of sausage gravy, hash browns, and white toast. That will make 2-3 meals easy. If I'm feeling lazy I order on doordash. It might be a little cold but it is still SOOOOOOOOOO tasty.
Solid diner, service was great, the food was good. It was a little tight and crowded when I arrived but still got speedy service, I'll be coming back.Food: 4/5
