This medical centre is indeed a WALK-IN CLINIC with no appointment needed. I called to try and book a "walk-in" appointment and was directed to simply come into the office. The clinic only had 3 patients in front of me on a Monday morning at 10am. Reception was polite and efficient. I met with a doctor within 20 minutes. This doctor consulted with another residing doctor on my case. Both doctors were professional and diagnosed my issue quickly. I have no idea why there are such negative and misinformed reviews posted for this clinic. If you are in North Vancouver in the Lonsdale Quay area, this is your closest and best bet for a walk-in clinic. For information on wait times for this clinic and other clinics visit medimap.ca
Experience 1—on Saturdays they are open from 2–6, except today a Saturday they were closed at 2:15 because the person I spoke to was "just about to head home". Also notable, though a walk-in clinic you can't just "walk in"… you have to make an appointment, which is confusing. I guess they don't get a lot of traffic so no-one there cares too much? Confusing! Experience 2—actually got it! Actually got a prescription refill! Experience 3—called around 2 to make an appointment, no spots as they were closing at 5 and the doctor was too busy. I noted that all signs said that they were open until 6 but no, that had changed at it was 5. They recommended another clinic. Experience 4—same as experience 3 except I called in at 130. Closing early again. Doctor was too busy. Referred me to someplace upper Lonsdale. I don't mean this to be a "rage"-type post but this service isn't acceptable, is it? Why not have an agency in place that is helpful, or even usable? I'd love to see some changing of the guards. But as it stands, if you need help from Lower Lonsdale Medical Centre, good luck.
came in with a actively bleeding knee. Told me no doctors available, and to go across the street, to a place which told me I was misinformed and that this walk in clinic is not suppose to direct people to them. saw a doctor later that day at this walking clinic. guy cleaned me wound in a extremely rough manner im used to the horrible sting of iodine, but not to rubbing off the layer of skin down to the fat he could have been a lot more gentle
I've been seeing Dr. Pojhan a few times now and she's great, she doesn't make you feel rushed, explains things well, compassionate. the only reason this review is 3 stars and not higher is because of the front desk girl/receptionist. it is NOT ok to ask me in the waiting room what is my reason for the visit because others can hear . There's such a thing as patient confidentiality and she should be aware of it. in my entire life I've never been asked reason for visit in front of everyone! you should only ask me when i'm brought to wait for doctor in the actual room. this is wrong and I hope it will be brought to her attention as it made me feel uncomfortable.
I’ve visited this clinic 3 times and I am very impressed by the doctors 3 different ones I tried. They are listening well and take their time for you. They prescribed exactly what I needed after 2 clinics downtown failed to give me the right treatment and I became very ill because of that. I really recommend them.
My recent experience at this medical facility was poor. Communication was unclear and undependable, variously being disconnected, put on hold and discovering they don’t answer between 12 and 1 PM. Arranged follow-ups were not done I had to call back repeatedly. For a medical facility, there was a concerning lack of attention to detail, variously getting my name and contact details wrong, being able to find me in the system and ensuring contact information was up to date and accurate.
Completely hopeless. Was told it would be a 20/30 minute wait as second patient after lunch. Dr. was late coming back from lunch. Runs a bariatric clinic whose patients take precendemce. Was given a waiting room but eventually gave up after 50 minutes and walked out. Go to the clinic on 19th and Lonsdale. Way better.
What a terrible clinic. I wish I could give it zero stars. Google listing and phone message say they’re open at 8:00. I’m here at 8:05 standing in the rain. Receptionist here at 8:35, not overly apologetic. Dr. Doesn’t actually even get here until 9:00. Terrible, terrible clinic.
Last time I've went to the clinic, I got Dr. Shams. I told her I was tired, and she replied with offence "Of me?" After I've seen her, my condition has worsened significantly. I fell under impression that she doesn't like children. In my opinion, she cares about the job, more than she cares about her patients.
I see that nothing has changed over the last few years. They have staffing problems. The only reason I go there is because my doctor is there. Why the clinic isn't open today, a Saturday, is beyond me. They keep reducing the hours of operation. If my doctor leaves I'll have to follow him to where he sets up shop.
