Lou Malnati's Pizzeria
"About Lou Malnati's PizzeriaConsidered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati's is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940's working in Chicago's first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati's Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago's best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday."

Ordered a pizza that took more than an hour to arrive and when it came uncut we selected for them to cut it we cut it and pulled the piece up and half of the pizza itself is gone. No dough, only sauce and cheese. It’s incredibly frustrating spending over $20 for a pizza for half of it to not even be edible and then to speak to the manager over the phone and he barely believes you but why would a customer lie about something like that? It’s not much to ask for a good FRESH pizza that costs so much and you can tell it was sitting there for awhile before being delivered.
Look closely to see the water present, not only on the box but in the pizza. The crust is completely saturated on the 1 and only slice cut. It's absolute garbage!! Nothing at all like my first time trying it last week, at a friend's house on the N side of Chicago. Don't you have any pride? You won't be open long without it!!
I'm pretty picky about my pizza but I'll order from here again and again. I did discover that for the first time ever adding extra toppings did not necessarily improve the pie. It just made the inside of my deep dish slide more during transit and made it trickier to slice. Will still get extra garlic but stay with standard amount of cheese and sausage!
This is my second favorite deep dish pizza In Chicago. Of course the ORIGINAL CREATOR of deep dish is my FAVORITE! which is UNO'S!! but only the original on Ohio St. Downtown. But Lou magnates is much closer and a VERY GOOD second place!! And their buttercrust is amazing!!!
I just got my first Lou Malnatti's pizza. I was very impressed. The service was enjoyable and the pizza was good. I ordered a large chicago style because of an incredible Youtube video of a guy making a pizza but was given a large cheese pizza instead . Thanks Lou for being the. best you can be
I don’t order from here alot. Friday during lent, ordered a deep dish cheese pizza. It was just a heavy dough with bland sauce and hardly any cheese. I’ll stick with Phil’s pizza in Oak Lawn.
I used to love this location but it is getting worse and worse. The grease that was pooled on the inside of the crust was really bad and soaking the carton. It is already expensive pizza and I always order extra sausage with pepperoni which costs more and I would like a great pizza everytime.
The pizza was not so good and $36.00 for a medium pizza is way to pricey especially when I did not enjoy it, it might just be my taste buds though. I won't be returning.
This place used to be a great spot to grab delicious food. Lately there is a lot to be desired. Orange Lettuce? Come on would you eat it? Tonight's the kicker. I ordered another salad added one extra dressing and paid for five croutons since they only give you one. Well we got none. I get customer service is a thing of the past but can't we at least follow up on order's? Very sad day when a family favorite is no more.
I tried the deep dish of course with pepperoni. They stacked the pepperoni & put tons of cheese on it. It was delicious! The salad dressing on the family salad was amazing. I didn't know if I'd like it, but I couldn't get enough. My friend bought 2 bottles of dressing for her salads at home. They also give you crunchy salami pieces to put on it, they hit the spot. I wouldn't say better than Giordano's, but they do tie. And you must try both.
