Ate at the restaurant, the hotel as we walked through looked very nice. There was a hand full of cool little shops within the hotel as we walked to the restaurant. The location was outstanding so was the valet area at the hotel. The Inn is literally within the center of everything Santa Fe. If we ever visited Santa Fe again the Inn & Spa at Loretto would definitely be at the top of the list for places to stay. It's a very nice property from what we saw.
Great stay and amazing staff, but I wish I could say the same about the security of the area. When walking outside the main entrance of the Loretto at night, you may feel a bit unsafe since there's occasional homeless and sketchy people walking near the premise. I think it's important to have security patrolling the area at night, specifically on Old Santa Fe Trail, to make make guests feel more comfortable.
This hotel is in the perfect location. The general manager, Hal, was extremely helpful and accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure that our group had an amazing retreat. The food was wonderful, and the staff was very friendly.Rooms: 4/5
I have stayed here many times and was satisfied but this time was a totally different experience. Room service delivered pancakes without any syrup, butter or silverware. They brought some after I called and were apologetic but it was 45 minutes after the fact so the meal was cold and inedible by then. The room was tired with mirrors walls and badly in need of renovation. Roomed prior to this dry we’re gorgeous and warm and worth paying for they faced Alameda. This one faced the La Fonda and overlooked the back parking lot and service entrance and was horrible. The heater was so loud I had to turn it off entirely and freeze to death. All for top dollar rates:-
After spending a fortune on services at the newly reopened hair and nail salon I was called by the regional spa manager today less than an hour before my appointment and banned from getting my weekly manicure pedicure. I have been getting spa services for decades all over the US and abroad and have never experienced anything like this. The staff are spotty and work only two days a week. The receptionist is rarely present, so getting a cold glass of water can take over thirty minutes and making appointments is difficult. There are no polish dryers so my nails were constantly smudged hours after services. For a salon that rarely has more than two clients at a time I am outraged at this treatment and would never recommend this salon to anyone.
The location is perfect to walk to galleries and restaurants. The facility is immaculate and very well designed. This is a very tranquil and peaceful place to wake up to. You will not be disappointed with the Inn. You can get souvenir coins made near the church.
First, WARNING: the hotel charges $30/night more than the price you will see when you book your room. This daily “fee” allegedly covers things like newspapers and coffee in the lobby, which I had no idea were even there, the existence of the pool, regardless of whether you use it, valet service, which I didn’t use, and bottled waters in the room, which I never received. This should be baked into the room cost. It left such a bad taste in my mouth—sleazy and tacky. At check out, the front desk showed me where the $30/night fee is “disclosed,” and suffice to say, the “disclosure” is totally inadequate. So although my booking total was ~$1977, my check-out total including $30/night + $60-70 taxes/night, not counting food = ~$2400. Hotel pros: very good and safe location a couple blocks from the Plaza, really unique shops in the hotel, nice employees for the most part, comfortable bed, clean room, quiet room. It was fine. Hotel cons: - The $30/night mandatory “fee” discussed above, which is not included in the booking price. - Elevator-type music in the lobby and restaurant Luminaria. They could definitely jazz up the vibe merely by changing the music. - I went to Luminaria for breakfast at 8:40 am on Sunday & the hostess said there was a 10-minute wait. However, there were literally only 4 occupied tables at the time; the other 10-11 tables were empty. Confused, I said “but it’s empty?” and she replied that she had just sat a bunch of people. I’m serious when I say there were max 15 total people in the restaurant. Very strange. - Food okay but nothing special. - I ordered doordash one night, and 10 minutes into eating din in my hotel room, I heard a rodent attacking the outlet right next to where I was eating. I don’t think ? the rodent got into the room, but that’s not the sort of thing you expect when paying over $500 room cost/night + $30 “fee”/ night + $60-70 taxes/night. Front desk was sweet and apologetic but didn’t seem surprised. - Someone took the “do not disturb” sign off my door and then housekeeping opened door while I was in the shower they immediately left when they heard the water. It may have been a guest that ganked the sign. Either way, never had that happen before. I told the front desk & they replaced the sign. - I called the concierge before arriving at the hotel and asked for recommendations for reputable tour companies so I could book trips to Puye cliff dwellings and Taos. The concierge was polite, but told me that she did not know the names of any tour companies or tour guides. When I asked how most guests plan excursions, she said that most guests just look it up themselves. She also explained that she had just started working there, but I feel like the hotel should have at least given her the names of tour companies & guides when she started. I ended up getting recommendations from concierge at a different hotel, La Fonda, where I stayed for half the week and liked much better than Loretta, though the rooms are slightly noisier than Loretta. Restaurant recs nearby: the shed, cafe Pasquale, del charro, coyote cantina coyote has outdoor roofdeck bar. Expect a wait at all these places unless you go early. Tomasita is also excellent, but ~.5 miles away; they’re on doordash too.
INCREDIBLE experience! I stayed with a few friends and felt so taken care of by the General Manager, Hal. I will stay at this Resort again! Definitely wowed.
This hotel was beautiful and the staff was amazing, especially, Hal, the general manager went above and beyond to make sure our girls trip was amazing from start to finish! Such intention from the beginning to the end!
One of my favorite places to stay when in Santa Fe! Close to everything! My grandmother attended school here in the 1930's before it was a hotel!Rooms: 5/5
