Long's Chinese Food

Just discovered this place, love it. We were finishing a busy day and looking to try a place we haven't been before. Found this place driving down 17th. The food is great i had no complaints, loved the spice, very spicy but a great balance. I will for sure be going back. As for the other reviews i personally didn't find the service to be slow, definitely not the most friendly but the quality of the food really over looks this one negative

Loved the food! Authentic Sichuan flavor and super fast service. They even gave us complimentary tea and onion pickle : Dinging a star for their filthy washroom and not so friendly service. But really good food

Great food, great service. Bring your friends- portions are huge and as with all Chinese food, dishes are communal and meant to be shared. Very authentic Szechuan dishes for spicy food lovers.

One of my faveriate. Even though its a little bit pricey, but I still go to this place a lot! Great food!

Nice fish fillets in szechuan style!! And portion size was huge and cheap! Wanna try other dishes as well

The food here is fantastic and a 5 star rating. The service however is very slow which is why I bumped it down to 4 starts. It is a family owned business so you will get most of your dishes one at a time. They do try to give good service but they are understaffed. The food is really spicy and authentic. Anyone that can't eat spicy will not enjoy their meal. My go to dishes are the cold noodles, pork with jalapeno, beef with cumin, zucchini stir-fried, deep fried chicken with chili peppers and pork soup with seaweed. We've done takeout before and the food was just as good.

Awesome little Szechuan place. A couple from China it seems like. The food is always wonderful. Takeout is AMAZING! it’s spicy so if you can’t eat spice, you’re probably not going to enjoy it. Fave menu items include: Kung pao chicken, the free pickles they are amazing jalepenos and pork stir fry, cold noodle, Dan Dan noodle, dry chicken with peppers, fish soup with bean sprouts. For an adventurous spice eater, this is the place. One of my two faves, the other being Hans. Go and be forgiving of the service, it’s a different culture you’re walking into. She is nice when you get to know her.

Chinese friend took me here as we were en route back to Edmonton. For the dispora this is apparently the top Chinese restaurant in Alberta by a country mile and he had several tons of take out orders for friends in Edmonton. They dont 'westernize' the taste profile and it's pretty spicy. Id certainly never tried flavours like it and it blew my mind. All the noodles are apparently made direct from starch extraction from the bean done in house rare apparently and the clay pot fermented cabbage is great.

The space is rather authentic. If you know what I mean. The food is as well. I get takeout now and I love their dandan noodles and QQ tofu. I specifically ask for their pickled vegetables everytime because I love them, to the point of having withdrawals. Absolutely delicious, and a hidden gem.

Foods are authentic so is the service which means you should expect little to no service. Given the authenticity of the food I didn't include service as one of the criteria of the rating. If you're looking authentic food go there. Dining there definitely is NOT a "in" thing to do for the hippies or hippy-want-to-bes. It's place for Chinese expats and first generation immigrants.
