I've been a loyal customer of Long & McQuade for 4 years and never had an issue until recently. We rented a keyboard from the North York store for a gig, and the salesman mistakenly included the wrong output cables. We didn't use the cables since the venue already had them in place.nnWhen I tried to return the keyboard and cables to the Oshawa store, the staff member there was unhelpful and insisted that I had provided the wrong cable, despite my explanation. He made me wait for a long time and ultimately told me to return it to the North York store. This was very inconvenient as our keyboardist was coming from Ottawa, and it was rented out under his name. So he couldn't deal with this issue.nnWe had another gig in Hamilton last week, so I visited the Hamilton store to rent another keyboard and explained the situation to them. While the staff there was understanding, I didn't have the cable with me at the time. Finally, I went to the Scarborough location, where a helpful staff member resolved the issue in less than five minutes.
I called ahead to see if they had a used bass amp that I saw on the website. My call was promptly picked up and a gentleman helped me confirm that it was in stock.nI walked in minutes to closing expecting the employees to be busy with closing duties and not expecting to be wowed by the service. When I came in every single employee greeted me warmly. I said my pleasantries and go off not wanting to be a bother. Not long after I saw the amp I was looking for, the employee I spoke to over the phone came by and asked if I was the one who called. He then went and got me a power cable and set me up so that I could try the amp out before buying. I felt very well taken care of and not rushed during this process even though it was very close to closing. I am impressed with and thankful for the gentlemen who helped me tonight. This is the kind of service that every retail store should aim for.
the employees here are always very helpful. I have also rented and bought here a lot as well, and every time I am there the employees are great and respectful to all the customers. Will always come back.
Always first class, non-intimidating service. Wonderful staff. Can’t say enough good about my experiences at L&M. Son is delighted with his new acoustic guitar.
Emerson was very helpful when I was trying out acoustics I was interested in today. He even helped me figure out my guitar and it was cost effective. Great guys in there. Can't wait to come back
