Lock 2 at the welland canal is a really cool place to be when watching ships go by from different parts of the globenby, pack a picnic lunchnnBut this 1 was no exception during the summer Of 2016 where a Viking boat went through our boarder / the canal by greeting them at the dock & meeting the crew.nnIt's something you would see on TV but the event was different.nnWe were Chasing them for an hour nnGreeting / Welcome the Crew tonSt Catharines.nnIt was Such an amazing experience.nnHope it happens again someday
Relaxing place for all ages. It's great to show young kids the bridge opening and closing.
Not sure if these photos are lock 2 or not, google seems to think they are. Was able to get really close to the locks, ended up with a decent up close view of the ship passing through. Wish there was a viewing platform.
The Welland Canal traverse was a great experience in a sailboat!
This was really cool. I've never been this way to Niagara on the lake. On the way there I didn't totally understand what this bridge was used for, but on the way home there was a giant ship passing through. I was lucky and didn't have to wait long in the lineup of traffic. Plus because of the tree's I didn't know a ship went by until getting to the bridge and seeing it. I really need to get out more often :
