Easy hike, with many different sections of forest/vegetation shifts. Many forking paths to side trails, which seem great for biking, but unclear which is the main path at some forks. Some sections near the beginning are lower-lying and may be prone to flooding in early spring. Bring bug spray, mosquitos are abundant. Parking: Parking at either end of trail Dog-friendliness: Lots of space for doggies!
A beautiful place to find peace and thank God almighty for everything. It is free and there is a small parking or you can park on the street. There are two different entrances. I can’t wait to visit this trail in every season. I am sure it will be gorgeous every time. Your dog will be very happy here.
Lovely hiking spot with a main trail and many smaller side-trails, though unmarked. Was beautifully snow-covered at the time of my visit with all paths already pretty well-travelled. It was a milder day so there was ice, though mostly soft. I wore crampons and found them helpful here, especially over the icier areas and on the hills. Parking lot is small but many cars were parked on the road. No toilet facility.
Many trails to try something new. The forest is thick and beautiful even in winter. The folks I meet have been kind. I see cross country joggers enjoying several laps. It is not overly rocky and has gradual sloping terrains. Some low marshy parts too. 2 parking lots, one on each side. I love Ontario forests!
A great place to walk through the woods….the skeeters are around and you have to keep moving! Our doggie found a bit of boggy water and decided to disguise her feet with what looks black rubber boots….
Beautiful wide trails. Wear good shoes in winter as there is no winter maintenance.
First time trying this trail. Such a beautiful spot! Will definitely be back. Easy enough for a variety of levels to enjoy together. Lots of space around.
Lots of trails here. Parking is limited. Most trails would be ok for strollers assuming they had large wheels. Too many dogs off leash. Makes it a bit scary for small children.
I really love this trail but it seems to be one of those places that say it is an off leash trail, it is not off leash trail. Both sides are very passionate and it also has its fair share of amazing owners and pups and then not so much. I guess at the end of the day it's dog owner beware no matter what you do or don't do. In my personal opinion if you have a dog that doesn't do well with offleash dogs coming up to it or of you are looking for an absolute safe place to have your dog off leash while working on recall this might not be it. It really is one of my favorite hiking places but my last few encounters have really made me think I will be looking for a new place to go.
Great trail with lots of different paths to take. Be aware that there are sometimes dogs running off leash and larger animals such as horses also use the trail. For those of you that like to pick up after your dog, please put the bag into the garbage. Those of you that pick up after your dog and leave the plastic bags at the side of the trail should seek help. It is far worse to leave plastic on the ground than to let your dogs droppings decompose amongst the leaves off of the trail.
