Little hidden Mexican gem in Vernon! We went there on a Saturday. My dad and i were the only ones there for the first 45mins. We got served right away. Great food, huge menu! Jugs of margaritas!
Tried this restaurant on my last day while on business in the Okanagan. I'm not sure how to rate it because I'm not quite sure what's happening with the menu. I get what fusion means, but this isn't it. The only thing missing from the menu is fish and chips. Maybe that's on there as well, who knows. The decor screams authentic Mexican restaurant but the food is anything but. California-style Mexican dishes but then why the name Tex??? The menu is way too much, pair it down to 1 page. My advice would be that if the decor is 100% Mexican inspired, everything down to the Margaritaville sign above the bar, then your food should be as well. Hire someone who knows how to prepare some authentic recipes, there would be a line out the door. I stayed in Vernon for 4 days and dining options are really limited... and not that good. If I'd have to compare the menu, taste, fusion.... whatever you want to call it, to other restaurants in other cities, I'd give less than 3 stars. Service however, was friendly and efficient.
This place was amazing! From outside it doesn't look like it could hold a small group of people, but as you head in, there's decent amount of space and a very clean and neat arrangement. The service was excellent, friendly and kind. The food was really good too. Try their daily specials! Can't go wrong with this place! Will go back!
Dined at lunch on a Thursday. Place was pretty full. Nice decor, interesting menu with lots to choose from. Both of us ordered quesadillas with soup. One was the special mango pineapple quesadilla with chicken. This one was very fresh tasting not any zing to it. The other was a chorizo green chillies quesadilla, lots of flavour and a hint of spiciness. Unfortunately both undersides of quesadillas were "soggy" so could not pick up to eat but had to use fork and knife. Too was nice and crispy. Disappointed that they charged extra for sour cream and at no point when ordering mentioned this fact. For the price we paid sour cream should have been included. The salsa was included and that was tasty. Soup was a Curry Coconut Chicken Rice. It was super yummy. Very small serving of coleslaw. It was tasty. Prices kind of high for a lunch meal, and quantity ample for a lunch serving. Service was good.
Maybe just an off day? Everytime I have been here They have been amazing. However today was just okay. Not sure if they got a new chef or not.

I love this place. It has a great atmosphere, the food is great, and the staff are wonderful. I had a great time at the Paint Night too.
Great food and a nice atmosphere. We went for dinner here before attending the Powerhouse Theatre nearby and were pleasantly surprised to find they gave a discount to theatre goers. Food was great. My wife had a bison burger which I tasted and found delicious. My mother had a beef and prawn bowl which I didn't taste but which she assured me was delicious, and I had a stir fry which was also very tasty. We had a 1/2 litre of an inexpensive merlot from the menu which was fine although not amazing. The only glitch was that our online reservation vanished and was never received. Not a problem as there was plenty of space but if they were full it would have made a real mess of the evening. If you make a reservation online it may be best to call and confirm it.
Great food and very creative menu. Quality Mexican eats.
Please note that I never give 5 stars. This mostly a family run operation has been under there management for 1.5 years so expect the refreshing attention of staff who truly want to make your dining experience as friendly and satisfying as they can. The portions are reasonable for the money and the food is well presented. I will be returning to further explore there menu as it is quite expensive. If I could offer the owners a bit of advice it would be reduce the number menu items and focus on those dishes. Mabe have a few menus which could be rotated throughout the week.
