Unbelievably fantastic customer service! When calling the restaurant and asking if they are open, the owner has often told us that if we are coming, they will remain open! And then the food was top-notch! Exactly the way we liked it, and since we were the only ones there, the owners custom made our orders the way we wanted! The pan fried cod is our favourite! Also very child friendly! They have toys to entertain children and they are very helpful and welcoming. I would really like to commend the owners for doing such a wonderful job! Our favourite spot to eat out: we will be back many times!
We went to the Little Denier this morning for breakfast with some of our family who was visiting from town and while we hate to leave a negative account of our dining experience there, we have to at least warn others. We had good memories of this little restaurant from a few yrs ago previous owners as being a yummy place to enjoy a quick breakfast or lunch, but apparently he restaurant is now under new ownership and I can quite honestly say, he fare was awful and I'm being polite. We had 2 little kiddies in our party who became quite restless waiting at least 45 mins to eat after we had already placed our order. There was only one server and that was one young man who was wearing a ball cap and tshirt and while he was doing his best, it just wasnt good enough. Our eggs and horrible, greasy bacon were cold, the pancakes were a joke and one of us in our group ordered a hamburger that you could use as puck. It was hard as tack, cold and grossly over cooked. Sadly, we were disappointed to the extreme and for that reason, we will not return. I am giving it one star because the place was reasonably clean.
I typically love little Diners and I do not have high expectations. But, this was well below the mark. Horrible shoestring fries and processed cheese on the clubhouse. We wanted a beer with our meal, and despite a sign saying they are licensed, apparantly they are not according to the server. She had no explanation. Not good.
We ordered take-out fries and they were an uncooked, tasteless, soggy mess. The gravy was vile. We asked for dressing but never got any, which is probably good because I'm sure it would have been disgusting like everything else. We threw away the entire order without eating any of it. It's sad that the tastiest part of our order was the styrofoam containers it came in.
Had squid to start and fish plater as the main coarse. Was not the worse meal I have ever eaten but a CLOSE second. The fish was dripping with grease and the food all tasted old which is a suprise being in a fishing town less than .5 km from the ocean. Place looked dingy, oil should have been changed in the fryer days before I ate there. Was a first and last trip to this place. What a let down.
Waited 25 minutes for a bowl of soup and it was a tiny bowl and cooled right off. It was "beef, turkey and barley" but mostly broth. String fries from the grocery store down the road, must have been on sale. Cod nuggets were decent but the rest was garb.
Customer service and the quality of the food truly deserve 10 stars! Love this place , love the food, love the environment and love the friendly owners! Definitely will keep coming back
Consistently Good Quality Food no surprises. Worth a visit you won't be sorry. Unfortunately closed 2017. Good News 2019 Reopened new management, hearing good things. A visit in the future.
Nice restaurant, friendly service, food was good and the prices were more than reasonable for rural Newfoundland. Good place to get all day breakfast and a decent cup of coffee.
Dont waste your time. If you do go, order in the early morning on your way to the beach to get your lunch. Which is dry and small portions for the over priced food. I would of gave no stars if i could.
