Good service, okay food. They use less spices and some dishes are syrupy sweet to cater to North American palates, so the food is fairly boring. If you're looking for that style of food, it is well made and the service is good.Food: 3/5
Picked up a Pad Thai lunch special which was very affordable and comes with a spring roll and either a Tom yum or coconut soup. Food was ready in a quick 15 minutes. The tom yum soup was packed with flavour though a bit more sour than I prefer. The Pad Thai was also a bit too sweet and the chicken was dry. I saw that their regular menu has 2 kinds of Pad Thai Thai style and Fusion and I think the lunch one might be the fusion one hence the ketchupy sweetness. I might try to ask for the Thai style instead next time. Service was friendly.
Service was excellent. Food was just okay- felt that the fragrant and spicy flavours had been muted, maybe their clientele prefers this knowing they’ve been here a long time. Found the pad see ew was quite sweet. The chicken was tender, they use breast meat it seems instead of thigh meat- again may be a preference for their clientele. Not bad, but not our preference for Thai food in the GTA.
Food is okay. I would say 7/10. Thai iced tea is too sweet. I already asked for less sweet but it still feels like I’m drinking sugar. I don’t think the appetizer platter worth the price. Don’t get it. It comes with veggie spring roll, taro sticks, veggies rolls, 2 chicken skewers and 2 shrimp rolls. Pad Thai is ok. Nothing special about the flavours. Generous portion. Pineapple curry doesn’t come with rice so we ordered rice extra on the side. Not much meat or toppings. Mostly just curry base.
Used to go dine here over a decade ago when lived near old Markham. Moved since. Decided to get take out recently and reminisce. Not cheap. Food was not as good as I remember. Just ok. Appetizer plate has too many fried options. Pineapple Chicken fried rice. Red curry beef. Pad Thai. Shared a few pics.
My sister and I ordered takeout, and our verdict is that it's not bad, but not great Thai food. Overall felt that seasoning was just a bit lacking in comparison to what we expect for Thai cuisine. Mango sticky rice: 4/5 Highlight of the meal. Mango was ripe and went very well with the coconut sticky rice. Tom yum soup: 3.5/5 Not bad, though sweeter than I'm used to tom yum soup being. Tamarind curry we paired it with the coconut rice: 3/5 Flavour was not bad but it was much sweeter than I was expecting, and the potato chunks were either cut too large for their cooking time, or they had undercooked them. There was a crunch biting into them, and since they were cut so large, it just didn't feel like it fit in texturally with the rest of the curry. Would have said it was a 3.5 if not for the potatoes. Thai basil fried rice with chicken: 2.5/5 Compared to other fried rices I've had at Thai restaurants, it just seemed to lack seasoning? It was one of those 'okay, but probably wouldn't reorder' type of dishes. Couldn't really make out the basil flavour.
I don't know how this place got a 4.0 rating. We ordered take out delivery from this place. The ginger beef was flavorless and the beef didn't look fresh looked whitish. I love Thai food and I've had Thai takeout from many different restaurants but this place wasn't even close to what I expected in Thai food. I would never order from here again or wouldn't recommend anyone else either. Please don't order based on 4 star reviews on this place.
I really don't understand how this restaurant has a 4.1 star rating, DON'T order here if you're looking for authentic Thai, or food that even tastes good for that matter. I ordered about $70 of takeout and couldn't finish any of it. Very disappointing as this is the only Thai place in the East Markham area. Appetizer Platter was ok, a lot of deep fried taro. Tom Kha Soup soup was way too sweet Pad Thai was flavourless, I've had better from a food court Thai Basil Spicy Noodle, this was the worst. I've never experienced Thai Basil Spicy Noodle like this, the noodles came separate and the sauce was basically soup
Ordered the cashew chicken stir fry, pad thai and green curry - the portion sizes were decent but the taste and aroma is far away from authentic. I am not sure, but I think can safely speculate there are any thai chefs in the kitchen. Everything was sweet , thai food is supposed to be a combination of umami, sweet and spicy.
Food didn't taste so good, especially the dessert with sticky rice and banana. I've had better, but it wasn't terrible. Reasonable pricing.
