I've dealt with that store for well over 20 years and the service has been good for most of the time except for the past couple of years. The cashiers always pushed the alcohol purchases down to the end of the counter after ringing it up and that routine has always been followed without fail except for lately. Most of the crew in there now don't care to touch the booze at all, they'll only ring it up. I find it a hassle having to pick up the two 8 packs of beer I just bought and then having to carry it down to the end of the counter to put into my packsack. It would've been more convenient if it had been slid down by the cashier instead, but no, they don't care to touch the booze at all.nI don't know why there's this change with that place, but it clearly shows that some of those current cashiers don't care to follow the proper procedures of their jobs. It would be like if the grocery store cashiers quit pushing the food down to the end of the counter after ringing it up. That would cause a pile up right there if a customer was buying a cart load of stuff.nI'm not happy with how that store is now regarding their new staff. Some of them are good and do push the booze down to the end of the counter, but there are too many others who just refuse to do it, like it's going to contaminate them. If they feel that way, then they shouldn't be working in a place like that at all. Hello, it's a liquor store!

A good selection of wines, from various countries. Well, the place looks like a warehouse but the service is great. I am not into liquors, but if you are, you have quite a variety to choose from as well. Same for beers, which I am not a fun of either. I think the prices are a bit higher than in a bigger city, like it is the case for most commodities here. Other than the shop needing some relooking, everything is alright here.
Nice clean store with good staff and a wide range of products. Liquor prices in Yellowknife are a strange commodity. Beer is expensive, domestic and imported. There is however a very stylish local Micro Brewer which provides a superior product, in my view, at competitive prices. Wine prices are competitive with other provinces and there is a very good selection. Also a good selection of liquor and oddly Scotch is cheaper in some situations than farther south. There are 2 liquor stores in Yk, this is easily the best.
Surprisingly good selection of spirits. But the A/C broke over two weeks ago, so they are cooking their wines at 32C 70-90F. Don't buy the wine!
