Non-profit charitable organization.
In 1992 a dozen library volunteers created the “Friends of the Lincoln Memorial Library” as a legal non-profit organization dedicated to the support and advancement of the Lincoln Memorial Library. Early on, the organization began fundraising efforts that have since become community traditions, such as our bi-annual Book Sales. The Friends have actively sought grants, gifts, and bequests and used the funds to create new resources at the Library, including new programs and an excellent video collection. Thanks to these efforts in building a strong foundation, the Friends today have resources and opportunities to help support the Library in a variety of ways. Working with the Library Director and Advisers, the Friends seek to set fundraising goals that support and supplement the Town's Library budget. Recently our goals have been to help refurbish the Children's Room and provide much-needed movable stacks for the children's picture books.
To support and promote the mission of the Lincoln Memorial Library.
Books, books, books - and related services. The Friends have recently published a COMMUNITY COOKBOOK, which is currently on sale at Gatherings, the Lincoln Credit Union and at the Lincoln Library.
