Lightfoot is a dangerous device 0% safety benifits 100% driver distraction. 85% bad reviews. 85% reviews raising safety concerns. Seen evidence of rtas with this device fitted. After all- you can pass a DVSA driving test, a hgv test, however quoting from Lightfoot 'driving is a game' check reviews on trust pilot to confirm this 1* review.
Sadly everyone who defends Lightfoot doesn't have to live with it on a daily basis, managers who have company cars don't have it fitted and they just don't understand why us Van drivers get annoyed with it and that's putting it politely! We keep getting told to attain a score of 85% and higher blah blah blah, it's easy to obtain a score higer than 85% but just be prepared to have a que of cars behind you getting annoyed, even if you touch the accelerator slightly whilst going down a slip road to join the dual carriageway SAFELY, be prepared for the condescending voice to tell you "Go Steady!" The Lightfoot unit itself is a slight distraction as you do subconsciously look at it when your focus should be 100% looking at the Cars/Road ahead.
Awful awful device. As repeatedly pointed out by many others, dangerous, distracting & ridiculous. You can't really use 1st or 2nd gear anymore once you've had it fitted, as soon as you attempt to make any progress the led's are on and you're getting told off. You can no longer overtake on the shorter overtaking lanes & when attempting to pull out on a busy roundabout or join a motorway you either have to put up with the highly annoying voice telling you to 'go steady' and the bright led's blinking away in the windscreen right in your line of sight to pull out safely, or keep the device happy and risk multiple car pile ups. Honestly, I wish I could rate it at less than one star as I feel that is far too generous. Read the trust pilot reviews if you don't believe me. Avoid avoid avoid! ***Laila, several weeks since I left this review & I can confirm that I honestly still detest the lightfoot device & all of my above points still remain completely relevant to how poorly/dangerously that I feel the device performs. I live for 5pm when it switches off each day and I can once again feel relaxed rather than stressed whilst driving & can concentrate on the road ahead rather than keeping one eye on lightfoot at all times to check the led's remain green. I do however appreciate your reply, could I please ask though, do you have a lightfoot fitted to your vehicle?
Worst device ever created. Distracts you from driving, goes red when you do nothing and it's a nightmare trying to get on the motorway or accelerate to pull out a junction. Better put a brick under your accelerator pedal and it's better...
the setting up process of lightfoot was easy due to the brilliant lightfoot staff. I would like to mention Rebecca Shepherd for the expertise and advice on any queries i had regarding the system and use of the portal.
I love my Lightfoot! I tend to save around 20% on my fuel bills, and it definitely makes me calmer when driving.
For a safety device it is really fun trying to join a motorway at 30 or under to keep in the green band.
Brilliant tech. Will save you money.
Good news for users, they are now changing the name from lightfoot to lamebrain. The people from lightfoot will tell you it’s only a guide and you need to drive safely, but they don’t mind distracting you with their seventies light show and that condescending irritating voice. The company I work for are focussed on facts and figures and not driver safety……
Not fit for purpose! My vehicle has had repeated dpf issues I've been advised by the garage I need to get the revs up on motorways and A roads in order to regen the dpf however am unable to do this as immediately apon passing above 2200rpm in any gear will result in continuous and distracting penalty warnings. However on the plus side this is a brilliant device for those sat in an office who are concerned about driver safety and want to appear to be doing something.
