This is a must do activity just an hour and a half away from Toronto. The entire series of activities right from buying tickets, the boat ride to finally disembarking from the boat is a great experience woven together by the Liftlock team. On the boat the captain makes sure there is never a dull moment - he definitely knows how to engage every age group with his trivia and sense of humor.
Nice experience to see the liftlock. It was a 2 hour journey. Call them and get a reservation then come to the cruise at least 15 min early and get the tickets. Took the morning cruise that started at 10.30 am. They have food and restroom facilities. We need to bring cash for the tickets and for the food from the cruise. They don't accept cards. The journey was beautiful. We can see manual liftlock and
You will be told to arrive early then herded onto the lawn to stand and wait until the previous passengers disembark, 15 to 20 minutes which is impossible for someone disabled. Not all of us are in a wheelchair.nThe cruise itself was fabulous. The captain was well informed and humorous. The boys helping out we're incredibly polite.
Excellent day trip for us to Peterborough. We had such a great time on this river cruise. We had two little kids with us as it was so easy to get on and off. Incredibly organized and friendly crew and it was the perfect amount of time for us with the kids in tow 2 hour ride. The locks were absolutely amazing and I had no idea these even existed. We loved the beautiful historical facts the captain shared throughout the ride too. I will be recommending this to everyone with or without kids. Simply awesome.
This was a fun tour. Our guide was informative as well as entertaining. I learned a lot more than I expected. Being 65 feet up on the lock was both frightening and exciting. The view was great. Something you should do if you are a visitor or resident of peterborough. I will do it again soon. Reserve your seats in advance. Get there early so you get a good seat on the boat. They only take cash.
