I have had to come here for bloodwork twice in the past 5 weeks, both experiences were positive. My anxiety is very high around medical things, especially having blood taken and both times my phlebotomist was understanding and open to chatting to help keep me distracted. Saturday's are always very busy for walk-ins because this is the only location open that day so I know the wait time will be long. My second time in, there was The Price is Right on the tv in the waiting room which was a very very welcome distraction for me.
Not good . Total chaos trying to register for an appointment. Showed up for appointment and found the line was for dropins and appointments was the same. Well 20 people deep and an hour later to told to have a seat and wait for your appointment. Since I have problems standing it would be nice to see appointments and walk ins done separately so at least I could have sat down and waited instead of standing.nOffice was disgusting dirty and worn no! I mean the carpet was worn to the floor literally. Registration staff very unhelpful and rude you're supposed to know their routines i guess because if you're confused and cant understand the person behind the desk because they're rushed and dont care.nLoved this lab 4 years ago not so much today. Blood tech was nice but did little to explain anything first just stab ya you and bye.
Staff were extremely rude and dismissive from the moment I walked in. No basic courtesy, no willingness to help, just attitude. The service is painfully slow and completely unorganized — feels like no one knows what they’re doing.nnThe whole experience was frustrating and stressful for something that should be simple like blood work. Communication is poor, waiting times are ridiculous, and they treat patients like an inconvenience instead of people.nnIf there were better alternatives available, I wouldn’t come here again. With this level of service, it’s hard to see how they’ll survive long-term once people have other options. Absolutely terrible experience.
I just had my worst experience ever at this Life Lab in Brantford. The new person there totally was not trained properly to take blood. She should never have a needle in her hand and doing this job, absolutely no idea how to do it. She rammed the needle in so hard that i almost jumped out of the chair. Kept moving it around to get the vain and the pain just got worse. i finally told her to take it out and get another person to finish. The pain was now down to my wrist and into my hand. She got another person and she used a butterfly and it went very good. She did,t like my attitude by this time and told me that i had the right to leave, which told me that i will never go back to that blood clinic ever. This happened once before at another Life Labs clinic in Brantford to me, so i,ll have to now go to the Paris clinic, as the people at the Brantford Life Lab clinics seem to be untrustworthy and under trained. Makes you wonder what is really happening to our health system in Canada.
I CANT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW YOU NEED TO GO ONLINE AND BOOK AN APPOINTMENT TIME.nIt will save you hours of time. They see you immediately, lately the amount of people here is insane; just a crazy amount crammed into a small room. Make an appt online, go in and they’ll call your name and tell you what room to go to. If you don’t you’re going to wait 1.5+ hours here.nnI have had great success with the consistently of good phlebotomists here for the blood tests I need once or twice a year.nNever had an issue with bruising here, even though I am prone to it, nurses are quick and capable.
