Beautiful research institute situated in the UBC Point Grey campus with two large, sunlit common areas and modern laboratories on the upper levels performing cutting-edge research. Labs on the perimeter of the building have great views to the mountains on the east and ocean on the west sides of the building.
One of the more attractive looking buildings on campus, often has events in the atrium as COVID restrictions have wound down. Nice lecture halls and open seating, although it tends to become a greenhouse in the summer
Poor food options. Places to study are filled with noisy medical students. Too much light makes it very blinding on the eyes to sit in the foyer for long periods of time. Building security does multiple rounds a day and makes you feel uncomfortable. Would rather spend time elsewhere on campus.
Great study space and comfortable lecture rooms!
Came in here like 6 years ago as an undergrad and somehow never left. I'm almost done my PhD but no one has told me how to get out. Send help.nStill having a good time though. They let me play with all the expensive scientist toys.
