Liberty Park is a beautiful island of green in Renton. The West end has a long path above the river and a beautiful path next to the river. The landscaping is lovely and well planned. The East end has a long path with a play area for children and cement skate park area. You will be very pleased that you visited this park.
New toy upgrade is AMAZING. Ground is fluffy with some give to it so it's more of a cushion for when kids fall. They have two main sections for two separate age groups and each section is themed. Younger kids section is "music" themed with musical interactions. Older kid section is "sports" themed with a obstacle course type set up. They even have a couple of things that I have never seen before. Such as a swaying boat type of toy that reminds me of the ship ride at Wild Waves that sways back and forth. They have a circular carousel type of toy that moves in a circle that's even fun for parents. Park was clean. In the past there has been shady looking homeless people in the park that live along the Cedar river that's next to the park. Today while there trying out the new toys there wasn't one single homeless person. So looks like the City of Renton is trying to clean up the park. Bathrooms were locked but I suppose that's because of homeless people abusing them. Overall great experience and new toys are top of the line. I grew up in the neighborhood across the street. When I was my kids current age there was just 2 swings, 1 slide and a parked old retired tractor that we could climb on. Makes me sound old but I sure wish I HAD toys like this to play on. Bring your kids!
Reasonably large park. Playground is ok. Walking along the river is fun as well. The library nearby has the worst hours though
Wow. I have not been here in a while and the play area has been upgraded. The kids loved it. Playground: Rubber padded ground and great variety of play equipment
Great park where people can come together! Also has a basketball court, tennis court, picnic tables, and close access to the public library as well as the Cedar River! Can be popular during the day and unfortunately during the night as well. Steer clear once the sun goes down. Not the safest place to be..
Nice park. Great for 2-year-olds. Kept them busy for over an hour.
Nice park with sports courts
Came to the park for Renton River Days. Parked in the Community Center parking lot. There is a walk way that goes under the freeway to the park. 1st time there - big park with lots of open area. The attached picture is of the Cedar River along one of the paths you can take. Great park & a great area with lots to do and see.
So I got myself my first remote co tool boat and couldn't wait to try it out. I'm sure glad a friend recommended I go to liberty park as it isn't too far from my home and is located on one end of side right across from a Java spot and conventional store, and on another side or end right across from the $ 1.25 store. Which is in a pavilion of sorts. The water running through there is so Beautiful. A nice fun family oriented place to take this kids.
Very nice, skate park, basketball courts, tennis courts, handball court, lots of places to walk really nice playground for the small kids very nice park
