Great to see Levity open again. I can't say enough great things about the management and the staff. We walked in tonight but the show was sold out and they were still able to find us a table for four. Food menu is great and reasonably priced. I'm looking forward to amateur Wednesday nights coming back soon.
Fun place to visit. The food comes from Anchor Bar. The food is good, but supper expensive for the bar food. I would say Anchor bar is one of the most expensive bars in Hamilton, beer is still pre covid time- nice and cheap. Levity is a great joint to watch a comedy and do something local in Hamilton. Good atmosphere and neat decore.
My son and I had a blast last night. It was amateur night. Great entertainment. I definitely recommend for you to check it out. I was surprised hpw busy it was on a rainy Wednesday night. We will definitely go back! The food was great too.
Solid comedy club, from buying tickets online to the washrooms was very pleased. So you enter via a well marked entrance that appears to be a construction site and then have to go up an elevator 10ish people big to the second floor. They have a cocktail table to greet you. This would be better suited as a podium but that's a minor quibble. The first space is a bar decorated with 70's-90's paraphernalia in a nice clean coverage of the wall. It's very inviting except there's no seats at all, I know comedy bars don't really do seating but it's needed here to break up the space and make the "flow" less awkward human standing waiting for a show to start. There are 4 individual bathrooms, this is the way to go! None big maybe one is wheelchair approved but unsure but absolutely does the truck trick. In the main performance space you are seated by the servers. It's the standard large rectangle directed at a 3X4 square - so if you've been to a yuk yuks or any other comedy club ever you'll be familiar with the layout. The show itself was great classic stand up. I saw a more liberally minded comedian you might see a more conservatively minded one. Absolutely want to come back here to see amateur night. There's no worries of only straight white men booking as can happen at some clubs so I very much appreciate that. All the theatre tech components seemed good, no audio issues, they bought a decent mic and didn't try to skimp. And I couldn't even see the red light which I always prefer. Food was pretty solid, well cooked battered frozen fries - a personal favorite - but know if you want squish fries that's not their thing. My friend's veggie wrap was complimented. For drinks they didn't seem to have anything on tap all bottles or cans which is fine although my nicklebrook brewery in Burlington was advertised as a tallcan and was a regular sized can - $7, which honestly might be the cheapest I've seen lately but I don't go out to restaurants much. They did have $30 buckets of 5 bottles of three varieties of you are on a budget. They might benefit from a cocktails list so we know what they have as I imagine it's not a full full bar. Overall happy and see room for improvement that I'm sure they'll tweak and achieve better than I can predict. After the show there was a little bit of milling about but mostly everyone trying to use the washroom, again there needs to be a bit more to the space to make the bar feel welcoming. We went to another bar in Hamilton as we don't know the town well and wanted to explore. Would be a great "everyone sees you perform" karaoke venue on non-comedy nights. I have high hopes for this club and hope to be a regular.
If you're a comedy fan in the Hamilton/ Niagara region, then Levity Club and Lounge in Hamilton is an absolute must-visit! In fact, I'd go as far as saying that it's the best comedy club in the Ontario, and possibly even beyond. The caliber of comedians that they attract is simply outstanding, with some of the biggest names in the business having graced their stage. But it's not just the talent that makes this place so special. There is food, and table service, for really reasonable drink prices. However, it's the quality of the comedy that really sets Levity apart. The intimate setting of the club creates a fantastic atmosphere that really adds to the overall experience. I can't recommend this place enough, and I'll definitely be returning for more laughs in the future!
One of my fav places for a night out in Hamilton. Best place to get a laugh in town. The drink menu is solid and the food is great!! The serving staff is amazing and on occasion a few perform their set on stage!
First time at this club and after respectfully engaging with the comedians was asked to leave. Not once in our lives have we ever been asked to leave a comedy club. No one told us to be quiet before hand and never were we given a warning. Nothing was said that warranted being kicked out by a staff member then the owner. We were told to never return which is fine because we'd never return to an establishment that was this disrespectful to a customer as we were tonight. This is why Hamilton lost Yukyuks and isn't deserving of the brand. Thanks for the free drinks. Awesome that I paid for the tickets online with a credit card because I will be fully reimbursed even for the tickets due to wrongfully being asked to leave for the entertainment that was paid for fully. Too bad because the comedians were pretty funny and engaged with the audience from all sides of the room. Thanks for the response but you have it confused. Not once were we asked to be quiet. Not once. You must have us confused with the people sitting at the end of the stage that other patrons physically yelled to shut up during the show. You are not wrong that we were justifiably upset leaving as you ruined a nice date night, cut short by a misunderstanding. Maybe you can provide security cam footage of the interaction at the stage seating. Seems like there's a major error in the recollection of the staff memory of the evening. In the response that you have now removed it was said we were asked to be quiet multiple times, this is where we must be mistaken for another couple. Both of us are the type to have a good time but also respectful of others. If someone even so much as shhhh'd us, in a crowded room of an engaging audience, we wouldn't have made another noise. Our interactions with the staff were nothing but friendly until the show was interrupted to be told to get out without any cause or warning. There wasn't even a dirty look given. I'd give this situation some consideration if the owners rendition of the evenings events weren't a work of fiction. I find it hilarious how spineless the owner and management must be to not only delete their reply but also completely overlook and ignore their terrible mistakes made that night. No apology or recognition where it is deserved. Not that it would really even matter at this point. I've already told this story to about 50 people that have been thinking of going to this club, that would never go now. Still waiting for that video surveillance that shows us being "asked" multiple times during the show to be quiet lol. The biggest joke at that comedy club is the owner and staff.
Good comedy. But they have to stop going around and asking for payment during the headliner - it’s rude. Also received bill without last call and before the headliner was onstage mid show.
Easily the best room for stand up. They do it right. The acoustics are perfect, from the decor, the setup, the talent to the employees. Outstanding, professional & impressive. It would be a great space to record albums in. Well done Levity! I'll be back
The food was great . But when it came to the bill we did not realized how much it would be we were planing on spending $100 and it come to about $123 which is fine but we were not able to tip for we do have a new bron baby who is running out of milk and if we did tip it would have been from the money that was for the baby’s food and we all know stores won’t let u get things even if your $5 short. So after paying the sever he was basically asking us to tip and got mad that we didn’t have enough! Then when leaving he had said he made a mistake and we had to pay more, honestly I think he just added something on the bill so he can get a tip… now we have to make the milk last untill we can get enough for the baby’s food .
