We went to the u-pick for raspberries- they had none available for u-pick so we purchased 4 boxes. We were told the blueberries were ready for u-pick so we decided to pick some. Once in the field we tried a few as we picked they were sour - we were told by the lady picking beside us that the lady in the field house where you pay for the berries told her to put the blueberries in the cupboard for a few days and they would sweeten. I put them in the cupboard straight away that same day (within 20 minutes) - they have been in the cupboard since Saturday- today is Wednesday. After five days they are still as bitter as the day we picked them.
When I called the farm to see what we could do I was told to cook them or add sugar- when I explained that I was diabetic and I did not buy them for cooking or to add sugar she told me she could do nothing for me. No refund, no taking the berries back (I was not expecting her to resale them but rather to taste them herself) Nothing. In the end she offered to take them back but offered no refund- she said some like them sour some like them sweet- come later in the season and they'll be sweeter- no thanks- I already spent almost 30 dollars for berries I cannot eat. WILL not be visiting or supporting this farm- too bad- we would have been spending ALOT of money here this year- not anymore.
I will never understand businesses who do not stand behind their products- I have my own business and we always make it right- especially with customers who support our growth by choosing to purchase from our company.
