Really nice, large area to explore and get out in nature, easily accessible from kingston. Free parking/entry which is great, washrooms. No maps available however and the signage wasn’t great on the trail so there were a few times I didn’t know where I was. One part of the trail was particularly overgrown so I ended up turning around. It was way too dense with long grass- tic city for sure and wasn’t risking it for me and my dog. You can see it in my last photo.
Very serene and well maintained trails that are great for walks and runs. Beginner-friendly and appears to be dog-friendly, too, since there were multiple people walking their dogs around. Cycling isn't allowed on some paths, but is allowed on others.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Great trails! We loved it. It had a mix of trails along side Lake Ontario, hidden beaches, trails through woods. The trails have good viewing and photography points. Animals especially squirrels are very accustomed to humans and come very close to you. People do feed squirrels here. It was a short trail and within Kingston. Would definitely visit again. We enjoyed it!
Trails were busy but not crowded. The wildlife is very accustomed to humans; even with young around the ducks and geese were relaxed, even friendly.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Lamoine Point is a conservation area located in the city of Kingston, Ontario. The area consist of 136 hectors and is a recreational hiking trail for many in the region. Many of the trails are on the shores of Lake Ontario and make for a beautiful walk. The wildlife consists of a variety of birds, chipmunks, squirrels, ducks, geese, and various other wild animals that have been somewhat domesticated. Walking the trails you'll meet people from various walks of life young and old alike. It's a fantastic place for a leisurely walk and a stroll with your dog. Along the trail, are a series of memorial benches and rest stops. There are public washrooms with handicapped accessibility and ample garbage disposals. There are a total of 11 km of trails with an accessible parking lot at each end. Cyclists are welcome on many parts of the trails. On a sidenote, I often go to the point once or twice a week to walk my dog and shoot pictures. Permits are also available for group picnics and events. You can obtain one by calling area code 613 546–4228 extension 222. In conclusion, Lamoine point is an excellent outdoor excursion and hiking trail forgetting and older alike.
This is one of the best parks around, its totally accessible to wheelchairs , walkers , strollers you name it anyone and all ages can enjoy a walk in a forest , bring some bird feed cause the chickadee's and nuthatches as well as a few woodpeckers have no issue landing on your hand to get some. and if you stop for a minute just inside the beginning of trail to the right you will see a couple of big rocks then your in the right spot to possibly see an albino chipmunk, he's shy and wont approach but is a very cool sight for sure
This place is a nice place to go with kids, family, and friends. The walking paths are not too long and would not take more than an hour of your day. There are a lot of animals to meet along the path and if the weather is nice there is a place to swim just off the trail.
We love coming here for walks with our family. Everyone loves feeding the wildlife, and there is plenty of wildlife to go around. I suggest bringing bird seed the little birds really enjoy small sunflower seeds and peanut for the squirrels, chipmunks and Bluejays. If you have enough time and patience, most of the birds including the Bluejays will come eat out of your hands, and quite a few small critters will as well. Last time we had wild turkeys eating out of our hands! Overall a really lovely place, the only real downside is the amount of ticks in the area. I wish they could spray pesticide to take the tick population down.
Fantastic location for the kids and family. There is a big parking lot with easy access to the water. Really nice trails under trees and next to the water. There are squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, chikididis, turkeys and other flying creatures. Awesome.
Great place to go for a trek with friends, a pooch, or alone. There are several trails all connected. When the lake freezes, it's fun to walk out there, too.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
