Le Sel Bistro
"With a modern menu, plenty of character, and one of the coziest neighborhood atmospheres, Le Sel Bistro is one of Tacoma's hidden little gems. A beautiful view of Commencement Bay paired with either a classic French brunch or comfort warming supper. Le Sel has been voted the #1 French Restaurant in the South Sound for several years and will not disappoint!Reservations highly recommended!"

If I could give a score higher than 5 stars, i would. This checks all the boxes. Outstanding ambiance, food and people. Its the little things that put it over the top french press coffee, french cutlery, expertly decorated, genuinely welcoming staff. This is my new favorite place. I recommend making reservations ahead of time. Thank you for a great experience!
Visited there last weekend with some friends for brunch. I had the French Toast which was pretty good. My friends had the filet mignon, lamb chops and grits, and steak Benedict. We all enjoyed our food, and the service was fantastic! It’s a cute little spot with very limited seating, so be sure to make a reservation.
This is my first visit here. They were able to accommodate two of us without reservation which was great! I had a breakfast sandwich with pork belly, I really enjoyed the blend of simple flavors if egg, porkbelly and tomatoes. Side of flavorful potatoes was amazing as well. I also tried Lavender Lemonade Gin based very refreshing and perfect for sunny day.
Not a full review at this time. I will update as soon as I can actually get past the front door. I attempted to eat lunch there today Saturday but was told that I should have made a reservation 3 days ahead of time. Really? For lunch on a Saturday? That being said, everything that I could see from the front bar/lobby area was super cute and just screamed class! 100% And though the locals may think a little too highly of themselves and their little Bistro, I think it may be a great little restaurant to enjoy! But that remains to be seen. I'll make a reservationthree days in advance and then give a complete review at that time.
My husband and I were visiting and went for a late brunch and just so happened to get a parking spot right in front. The staff was incredibly kind throughout our whole experience. I had a caramel latte and the pommes French toast. Everything was wonderful! Presentation and atmosphere was so great! Thank you for a great experience!
We had brunch here last month and was not impressed, especially after finally getting reservations since it seems hard to get in. We were sat inside, kind of in the hallway which was awkward. It was hard to get the attention of our waitressalso acting as bartender, so when another server walked by with empty hands not in a rush, I tried to get his attention.... I said sir, sir! And had my hand up and made eye contact- and nothing. He kept walking by... so between the lack luster ambiance and staff dazed out, not sure if I will be giving this place another try for Brunch. Maybe dinner is different? My steak Benedict was not very hot temp wise and the hollindaise sauce was starting to harden so I know it sat waiting to be served. Their bloody Mary was good but the garnish is so large it takes away from the actual drink. My husband wanted another beer after his meal but we could never track down anyone. For what they are charging, I feel they need to step up their service and food. You can see my English muffin was pretty badly burnt so yea- $30 Steak Benedict= yuck
oh so good! I want to come back to try everything! Had the lavender lemonade. We sat indoors. Reservations highly recommended even midday Friday. A nice covered outdoor eating area with a view. I had the Brussel sprouts, bacon and a poached egg with balsamic reduction. It was so flavorful! I highly recommend. Very cute interior and really friendly and attentive wait staff.
The perfect brunch spot in Tacoma! It absolutely blew my friend and I away. The pastry wrapped brie was delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was lovely with a view of the water and beautiful decor. Make sure to make a reservation and enjoy!Dine in: Yes
A new brunch spot for us, and now that we’ve tasted a couple of items, oh, man, we’ll return. We walked in the door and immediately felt enveloped in a snug, warm environment. Friendly faces, and though we had to wait a bit, the stress level was nil. Sun was peaking in the window overlooking the water, and we enjoyed seeing out. The Croque Madam was amazing! Thickest soft slice of Brioche ever, which it had to be to hold the thin slices of smoked ham, béchamel sauce, and a perfect sunny side egg. The texture was the best. Bagel & Nova had me immediately. I have always loved cold smoked salmon and this was so tasty, with whipped cream cheese holding it in place and delightful caper berries giving a sharp counter to it. I could go on but…just go. If it’s your first time it will not be your only visit!
A really nice experience. Very friendly service. We sat on patio which was heated very well. We had lamb with grits and the French toast. Both were delicious but the French toast was amazing! I definitely will recommend this bistro to other people.
