I had a very disturbing experience at this LCBO on February 12 around 3 PM.nnThe tall white male cashier who served me was extremely rude and unprofessional. After I answered his question with “Yes,” he deliberately mocked me by repeating “yes, yes” in a sarcastic tone several times.nI asked him multiple times for a paper bag because I wanted to put one of the four‑packs inside as a small Valentine’s gift for a friend. I wasn’t trying to take anything myself—I simply pointed at the paper bags on the counter and said that I needed that kind of bag. Instead of listening, he kept interrupting me and refused again and again.nWhen I asked him why he couldn’t give me a bag, he responded in an aggressive, condescending tone:n“Because I work here. I think you don’t need it, so you don’t need it.”nRight when I pointed at the bag to explain, he suddenly pressed his hand down on the stack of paper bags, as if blocking me on purpose. His expression was unfriendly, and his tone and body language were hostile. I clearly felt aggression, discrimination, and a sense of threat. I was genuinely scared, as if he might explode at any moment.nBecause I felt unsafe, I had no choice but to leave his counter and go to the long‑haired male cashier at the next register. That cashier was very kind and immediately gave me a paper bag without any issue.nWhat shocked me even more was the obvious difference in treatment. This tall cashier was extremely friendly to the white male customer before me, but treated me—an Asian woman—with clear disrespect. The contrast was striking.nThis was one of the most frightening and upsetting customer service experiences I have had in over ten years of living in Canada. I hope LCBO takes this seriously, because no customer should ever be treated this way.
It’s a nice store, well organized and clean. They have a great selection of national and international wines and beers.nnRegarding the wines they have three sections: vintage, walls and shelves, and they are classified by color, type, Region, body and astringency dry sensation in the mouth. When coming to the prices, they have a wide range of prices $$-$$$.nnThey also have a nice selection of other liquors like sake, cognac, whiskey, brandy, rum, etc.nnThe service is good, the crew is very attentive and they will help you find what you need.
Very good and caring staff, their very politenand have variety of liquors you wantnmanagement needs a praise for bringing good people too
Yesterday I met the most unpleasant person at this LCBO today. Didn't catch their name, but they worked at the online pick-up desk. Long greyish hair with glasses. Said good morning to her and told here I'm here for an online order. Her reply was, what's your name. Guess LCBO doesn't pay enough for their employees to say hi to customers.nnThis was my first time picking up an online order through LCBO. I followed the email instructions by going to the desk and providing my name, yes I may not have given my full name, as I was expecting to provide an order number, as a lot of other businesses ask for that.nnIf you are not the customer service type, you definitely should not be in a customer service job. Life is already hard in general, I get we all have our struggles, just her tone and demeanor, said it all. I guess LCBO only hires cranky people. Won't be coming back to this location.
The worst service I've ever experienced anywhere. The woman Gina looked miserable and looked at us as we were aliens. If people don't like what they do for a living, they should change things up but should really learn to treat customers politely, not so rude.
