while i, personally, have not been to or attended a funeral at this specific funeral home i have heard nothing but positive & heart warming information about the staff & how well they handled different situations involving personal family matters. my best friends father passed away recently & she continues to talk about Eileen & the amount of professionalism & compassion she had for the family in mourning. i’d like to thank Eileen for doing everything she possibly could to ensure to comfort of my best friend & her family throughout the entire funeral process. i wish Eileen nothing but an amazing, happy & successful future<3
Should we be pleased and satisfied with the services of Lawrence Funeral Home... you be the judge. We understand that our niece was responsible for making all the decisions about the funeral... but the funeral was for our beloved brother and we simply wanted to say our final goodbyes in a peaceful and respectful manner. With that being said, we were also the ones who paid for it... The funeral home was responsible for the whole ceremony and the way it went: 1. Was there no way to make room for the whole family to be seated in front of the coffin? 2. Is it normal behavior to cut the ribbons off the flowers that had condolences and last goodbyes from our parents who couldn't attend their son's burial written on them? We know it was done by the funeral director responsible for the ceremony and on request of the niece. With this in mind, the funeral staff did not bring the flowers inside the church...instead they were left outside in the snow. Because of this atrocious act, we now understand why they weren't brought inside - putting them inside would make it obvious to us what was done to them. 3. Procession by the house that he was not living in for years... Why? Did staff from the funeral home check on the procession path to pass by the house beforehand? Did anybody realize that about 70 cars from the procession blocked busy streets for about 30 minutes because of a cargo train which put everyone in danger? Because of all this, we were 1.5 hours late to the cemetery. As a result, the ceremony at the cemetery was cut short and made truly meaningless! In about 10 minutes, the coffin was lowered to the grave and we were forced to quickly throw in flowers because everyone was rushed as another funeral was approaching! In addition, Eileen, the funeral director, acted very unprofessionally from the beginning when she got in the middle of the family's personal matters and already chose sides. Her actions and attitude should have been neutral with both sides of the family especially since she did not know the family's situation. With that, she made unnecessary and snarky remarks during various aspects of the service and prayer time. This is very unprofessional and unneeded behavior from a funeral director during such a difficult time for the family. How can you do such a thing and be so disrespectful? Everything that happened at the ceremony brought us disbelief and left us in even more sadness. Our brother deserved the best for his last day on Earth! We are not here to judge but we want the truth to be heard. AND we are not asking anyone to give reviews. Many who attended the ceremony witnessed the truth and will speak for themselves on the service that was provided by this funeral home.
The service here was very professional during such a hard time for me and my children. The communication between the funeral planner and the directors was excellent. Eileen was very warm and compassionate. Thank you for serving the hot coffee. It was very comforting. Thank you so much!
working with eileen was a pleasure. she made the experience planning my father’s funeral a smooth experience during such a difficult time for my family. she did a stellar job mediating a very difficult family dynamic to the best of her abilities. in direct regards to the only negative review, she was excellent with communication and provided me, the primary contact and contract signer, with all the information i needed to plan my father’s funeral and memorial service. both eileen and miles were compassionate and understanding of the loss of my father and the situation at hand. they clarified to me the fact that my father’s family tried to get me to sign over the rights to plan his funeral without my knowledge and provided me with the resources to successfully complete the process of planning it myself. despite unimaginably disrespectful behavior from some of the guests, eileen did her best to give me and my sisters a safe and peaceful space to spend our final moments with our dad. thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your help!
The funeral director Eileen lacked compassion, understanding, communication as well as professionalism. She made everything difficult from Day 2 to the last day at the cemetery. One funeral director was telling us one thing, the other funeral director was telling us a different thing. Our entire family was in disbelief at the treatment we received seeing everything that was going on from the wake to the cemetery. I will never recommend this funeral home to anyone.
I'm very disappointed with the service that was provided. There was no compassion, zero understanding, lack of communication, which was the biggest problem, and making decisions without consulting with the family during such a hard time. Working with Eileen was a disaster. She has no remorse and human decency. People who attended the service were appalled by the lack of professionalism.
Michael did a fantastic job of taking care of the arrangements for us. He was very attentive to the details. We thought everything was prepaid at the cemetery and he noted the vault was not prepaid. By going through Lawrence Funeral Home we saved about $500. He also went of the pros/cons of purchasing a casket online and there wasn't a high pressure sales pitch, but he just presented the facts we ended up going with Lawrence. What I liked was his practical approach. I have been to other funeral homes where they try to play on your emotions, and say things like don't you want the best that money can buy for you loved one or talk about the warranty on the coffin. Michael and team met us where we were at and provided exactly what we needed.
Stephanie did a great and thorough job covering every detail with warmth and concern and was totally available. Everyone attending was pleased and complimentary. Thank you all for making a difficult time so much less so. All handled with care, warmth and helpful.......not anything like a business transaction..
Thank you so much Eileen. You were very helpful. All of the positive reviews speak for themselves. Really good service overall.
